Patrons beware , I came to this establishment Saturday night like many other nights . I strolled to back bar and ordered a Heineken ( cost $6.00 plus pertinent tax . Gave bartender a $20 bill got 5 singles and a $5 bill. Saw owner/manager and inquired on price of beer he stated $6 plus tax. I informed him that I was given back $10 in change , he stated ask for a receipt from bartender. I walked back to bar and asked for a receipt she handed me a receipt for $7.75 . Owner was at the bar area, he asked how much change I got, I informed him $10 . He Informed her of my dissatisfaction, she claimed she could not find transaction even though she gave me a receipt . He went behind bar and tried to find it . He informed me if this happens again to inform him. I was never given the correct amount despite the fact I was given the incorrect change. He informed me I was going to get a refund , he then asked me to step away from the bar area to talk to me. I stated its not about the money its the principal of the matter , I have been charged inconsistently other times and this was first time I brought it to any one’s attention. This was my first time going since new ownership. The chicken and broccoli Alfredo was very good. The broccoli was fresh and not overcooked. The chicken had excellent flavor. In addition, the waitstaff was very attentive.
I ordered fish & chips very delicious. My grandson ordered grilled octopus and loved it.The staff is very friendly and accommodating.The renovations really bring the restaurant alive.I plan on going back for live music.
It’s not fancy but the food is absolutely delicious. The employees are super friendly. This was my first visit and I’m definitely coming back.
Wow wow wow!!! I read a lot of emotional reviews of people being negative due to the owner changing which is so unfortunate because the food here was AMAZING. People have to let go of the past and enjoy what this place has to offer now. Every item we ordered was so tasty and full of flavor! I felt this was a well-needed review because it’s truly worth the trip to George’s especially if you still appreciate authentic ethnic, quality food. My family and I will definitely visit Georges again.
The atmosphere was very welcoming and comfortable. The food was great, I recommend the wings and the shrimp pasta! You will not regret it! The owner and the staff was very friendly. I will definitely be back to try more options on the menu.
I am a long time client here but after the new owner came it’s been terrible in my personal opinion. Every time I order food here it’s disappointing and the expensive.
One of our favorite venues to play!! A friendly staff and audience complete with delicious food. We hang out there even when we don’t have a gig and the other bands play great creole music.
My 4th visit to George's and was a totally delightful trip. The octopus stew dish was a gem, really tender and tasty, well balanced by sweet aromatic peppers.The fried chicken wings came out plum and juicy in a nice size portion and were deliciously marinaded. The show stopper for me were the sweet potato fries ?. Sweet crunchy and moist all at the same time to the perfect degree.Definitely heading back to George's soon to try out the other dishes. Well done George's. Highly recommend!
