Awesome food!
Food was not bad. They just raised the price of each item on my bill when we were ready to pay! It was a pitty that they could not keep the printed menu updated. But the fact that they could not keep the prices on black board updated was lame.
Old school Cantonese food. Really old school food that NYC Chinatown used to serve. Pretty busy here. Tons of Chinese families and BU students.
Went there last night with family and friends to celebrate Chinese New Year and boy was the food delicious. I’d have gave it a 10 stars if there’s such..-:). Everything there was excellent, service, price and the food of course!!!! Will go back there again soon and will try the King Crabs..heard it’s their specialty.-:)
Avoid this one!Food is normal. But service is terrible. We ordered a takeout and were told to pick up in 25 min. We we ends up waiting for 1hand 15min. What the hell!We waited for 45min inside the restaurant. And they yelled at us when we asked for our food. Incredible!
As a native Cantonese, I love this restaurant. It is very authentic. The flavor is just right, not too heavy tasted, very much like a Cantonese style. I have my birthday party there and every guest loved the food I ordered.
We wanted a quick meal on a Sunday night and stumbled across Victoria. It was a very pleasant surprise. We thoroughly enjoyed the food. The service was perfunctory but efficient. The dishes came out hot and fresh as they were prepared. That works best if you're sharing otherwise one person might get served after all the others. We ordered rice but it never came (was not missed!). We pointed it out and the waiter took it off our bill immediately and apologized profusely. While we managed to order too much fried food, it was so lightly battered we didn't regret our oversight as we expected. We were surrounded by a constant banter of Chinese between staff and most other tables. It wasn't the most relaxing environment but the food made up for it. We were seated immediately at 6pm but there was quite a line by the time we left at 7:15pm.
Food was mediocre and really greasy for Cantonese and the service sucked (way more than usual)!Avoid if you can!!In Boston for short trip, craved Cantonese food and since we are in Boston we thought why not try the lobster. We were a party of 2, told waiter we wanted a small lobster (since we couldn’t take anything to-go), he mentioned briefly that we should get medium but didn’t really sell it. Guess our surprised when the dish showed up with 2.5 lobster (counting by the heads) can’t tell from the lack of body meat. Didn’t want to waste food and put the waiter in a difficult spot so we finished the lobster. Didn’t want to make a scene but it would have been nice to know if you thought a small lobster wasn’t enough you can honestly tell us and put some effort into actually recommending the medium and not leaving us feeling conned! And that’s not the end, because we were put in the back where there were no other patrons and in front of the restroom no less. No one single server came check-in with us other than to deliver the food for more tea/change plate etc despite many walked passed us on the way to their own tea and for restroom. The lack of service and the fact that we felt we were conned led us to leave a 10+% tip (with around $40/person bill) which honestly were more than they deserved. While getting ready to leave, a server (who literally just took our order) stopped us and said we had to leave a 15% or more tip. I told him that we felt the service did not deserve any more and pointed out no one had tried to help us with anything if not trying to con us. He kept saying it was required to tip more in the US and their management pay them low wages as if that would justify you trying to con us to pay more for food we didn’t want and why would you do that if that does not benefit you?! To raise cost so I would pay more tip? Cause that’s exactly what it was looking like it! Not wanting to get into it we continued to leave. And he had the audacity to continued to yell at us as we were leaving. Seriously?! While I agree that minimum wage of the working people (myself included) is low and not an living wage, it does not give you a right to keep conning others out of their hard earned $$! Shame on you!!
Food is good. Very authentic, and the kind of food the Chinese will enjoy. We ordered black pepper beef, snow pea tip, deep fried calamari, deep fried bean curt, fried oyster cake, and fried dumpling. Everything was good except the oyster cake. The fried dumpling is just ok.Services is fine, better than most Chinese restaurants. Price is reasonable. Will definitely go back.
My husband and I had dinner at Victoria Seafood and the food was amazing. The service was impeccable, friendly, and fast. From the creative presentation of the food and the flavors that went into each dish, it truely showed the establishment cares about the food and the people they are serving. This restaurant stands out as a must go to!
