Divey Irish pub. Not exactly a unique place to drink in Boston but hey... Bartenders were friendly and the beer was cold so there ya go. Had to take a star because the bar stools are terribly uncomfortable and the little room at the back of the bar reeked of piss. Not a good look. Or should I say smell?

Worth the read. We were walking around and celebrating my little sisters 21st birthday. Attempted to go into this place and the “security guard” wouldn’t let her in on her 21st birthday. Claiming that she “could have been born at 11:59pm today” meaning she wouldn’t actually be 21 until the minute she was born, or the following day. Myself and my husband are clearly over 21, not that it even matters. We tried to tell the man, it’s her 21st birthday, today. He let in countless other people, without question or ID, while examining each of our government issued IDs and embarrassed us, and turned us away for no reason. This is no popular or famous place that we would make an extreme attempt to get in, it’s a random bar that we walked past. The lack of professionalism and sheer lack of capacity to read the date on a government issued ID was both embarrassing and unnecessary. He felt the need to ridicule us, by letting others in, after us, without question. We were not rude, or unfriendly by any means. We asked the man how is night was going. Only to be turned away based on his lack of reading or misinterpretation of a government issued ID. He told other members of the staff that we were misrepresenting ourselves which is untrue. We had countless positive experiences at other bars in the area. This is the one and only negative experience we had. Which is saying something about the “guard” and the staff at this establishment. See attached picture of the man who acted this way, with no badge or identification that he works at this establishment.

Friendly bartenders, attentive bouncers. A local social hotspot with reasonably priced drinks. Fun (puzzling) rebus puzzles. Sneaky hooks to hang a jacket or purse. Decorated dollar bills. Eye spy….a sticker, Mardi Gras necklace, and Christmas lights in here. A highly recommended Boston dive bar.

Fun vibe!Low key, "just a bar" says the bartender, meaning no food just drinks and casual, hang out fun...I say "a REAL bar"! Fantastic place to get the party started before a show at the Boch. Thank you!

Walked in, but it smelled so much like a mens urinal we had to immediately leave. I have never been in a bar that smells so strongly of pee!

I was not allowed into the bar without any clear reason. I always assume people are rude or drunk when they are rejected, but I came into the bar, immediately took my ID out and when showing the security guy, he told me he could not accept it as it was not an American ID. He did not even look me in the eye when saying so. And when asking questions about what he did need, he just did not answer. Well too bad for them cause I spent my money next doors.

Down to earth dive bar with great staff minus the security guy who threw a tantrum seeing my Canadian Drivers license and went on a rant about he was doing me a favour by letting me in. I even showed him 2 additional pieces of Canadian Govt ID but he wanted my passport. A valid Canadian Drivers License is a legally acceptable piece of ID in the US. A few girls ahead of me used their foreign IDs without getting an earful from him. Bartenders were great!

I don’t drink, but been asked many times where this place is by people heading there. ⭐️ rating is up to you.I hear mixed reviews.Photos help in finding this location..

Excellent dive bar with solid pricing for the area, plenty of TVs and generally easy-going patrons that will start up friendly conversations

Decent-ish old bar. Kind of smelly and the beer on draught wasn't particularly fresh. A bit overpriced too. But I'm giving 4 stars because it's an old establishment, and many of those have been demolished in favor of soulless sports bar chains. And locals go there. I support these types of businesses.
