It’s neat to think you are sitting where history was created but here you can. Great spot to just grab a drink and people watch.
Great atmosphere and good beer and cider. We really liked the fact that there is an air of history but it doesn’t knock you in the head with it. We also appreciated the fact that it wasn’t another sports bar
We (family of four including twin 13 year olds) arrived around 8:40. We inquired on whether or not minors are welcome at this time of day and they were so gracious. What we didn't know is that at 9pm they were shifting to adults only and the kitchen was closing...normally in moments like this we would feel a pretty cold shoulder as a welcome. Instead they were so accommodating...They didn't make us feel rushed...got our order in for nachos right away...I actually had to proactively track down the bill around 9:40 so we could make the table available for the adults that were starting to pile in as the night wore on. Tip of the cap to the staff for making us feel so welcomed.
Awesome place. Been here many times. Staff is always nice and helpful. Guinness is poured perfectly.
We popped in here for lunch after our walking tour to experience the tavern that is credited for helping the Sons of Liberty their next steps. The best thing is the British Soldier statue outside that's a great photo op. The advertising for the tavern is somewhat misleading as it's definitely not an original but an old-style tavern with some shadow-boxed historic memorabilia, albeit interesting. There were not many patrons when we sat down, so we were somewhat surprised to receive coffee that was less than lukewarm. While the waitress replaced the coffee once we complaint, the second cup wasn't hot either and by the time she returned with more cream, by that time we had eaten our meal, the second cup was stone-cold also. The New England Chowder we ordered was tasty, but I'm not sure it was home-made. We were not charged for the coffee which somewhat redeemed the experience.
Came here for dinner. We had read about Green Dragon's amazing history about 6 months ago, so we were excited that we finally made it! I love the interior, it definitely is an authentic Irish Pub and has some cool old school touches to it. What surprised us was that the food was actually good! I ordered the old school Bangers and Mash. The sausages were delicious and so was the gravy that came with it and the potatoes. Dad's Shepherds Pie was really good too!The best part about being here was imagining what it would've been like being here in 1657. I can't believe it's been around for that long.
Everything you would want from a classic pub from the exterior to the interior. Definitely has a feel of having some history to it and well worth the visit. Very nice selection of local and craft draft beers and a good mix of cocktails. Service was excellent and friendly.
A party of six enjoyed a great lunch here we had almost something original each from the menu and the wait staff was very friendly and of course we enjoyed a bunch of Guinness stout definitely worth a lunchtime if you’re in Boston on a vacation or business trip
Ok, I’m not Irish so I can’t speak with authority on this, but WOW! Their Sheppard’s Pie was seriously good eats! Really flavorful. Kid friendly options that were better and tastier then most other restaurants in the area. Highly recommend a visit … for the history and definitely for the food ?
Ask for a fried breast chicken sandwich and receive this. 2 nuggets or tenders in a bun. Ask to waitress about it and she told me "thats the way we do here". Wings was a better option. Price not bad but chicken sandwich NO WAY.
