It started so well! We had gone here based on very positive trip advisor rating and first impressions were good. The baked feta starter and the chicken tenders were delicious but only one of our kids mains arrived and we had to wait an addition 10 minutes for the other one as the kitchen had lost the ticket. Then when it arrived the salmon was heavily salted it was inedible. The fries on our other daughters food were likewise salted to inedible standards. My main was the oven roasted salmon with pesto pasta and the salmon and the salmon was over seasoned and over cooked and the pesto pasta had some weird sweet syrup drizzled on it. It was highly unpleasant. The waitress was apologetic in words only and her general manner was both dismissive and rude. Only one of the childrens meals was removed from the bill despite the fries being inedible on the other one. The whole thing was a very poor standard of service and no interest shown in making things right. As I write this, my husband has dashed to the toilet with severe stomach cramps which we can only assume is linked to the chicken starter given that he hadn’t eaten anything for the preceding hours but ate those two and a bit hours ago. I would avoid if I were you.

Needed a restaurant on vacation with gluten free options. Far exceeded expectationsâ¦def going back!
We waited were long for a server to show up at the table (20 minutes) and ended up having to ask for someone to serve us - getting the reply âokay - I can do thatâ. The quality of the food was not meeting expectations being bland and served without any pride in the presentation.
Bang Bang Broccoli was excellent, sweet and spicy. I loved the Picante Burger. Juicy. Cooked just right. Nice table by the window. Service was attentive to my needs.
Greeted warmly upon arrival. We were disappointed we couldn't sit outside (told the umbrellas were all broken). Food was great - big portions, hot and flavorful. Great value.
Grabbed a quick lunch and drinks. Service was friendly, drinks and food came out quickly. We ordered the fried green tomato sandwich and the agave lime chicken. Both were tasty.
Everything was great here, it was pretty busy but service was great and the food was absolutely delicious. Food comes out flagged as GF so no need to worry, they are very careful and reassured me everything would be safe. Their fries are also GF(amazing) and in general there are many GF options. We had a pizza as an appetizer and burgers for the actual dinner. Honestly, worth a visit, everything was tasty, drinks were good, we’d go again!
This place is awesome!!! We were wandering in Boston, looking for a bite to eat, and came upon Tavern In The Square. My friend had mentioned to me before that this restaurant was really committed to accommodating people with food restrictions, and truly, I cannot say that enough! This was my first time eating at a non-fast food restaurant & it was incredible. I had a great time and the food was phenomenal; my parents LOVED the vegetarian options available as well. Not only did the restaurants have an allergen menu, but they even offered to make substitutions for certain options. They really took my allergies seriously and made me feel special while doing so; I mean, I even got an allergy pick! What a good deal… I would also like to shoutout our server Anna who was kind, courteous, and so so helpful every step of the way. She made us feel at home and at ease while dining out. Thank you to everyone who made this experience possible at Tavern in The Square. Would recommend this place to anyone in Boston looking for a restaurant to eat out. :)
