Mexican place inside Timeout market with tacos and quesadillas. We got an asada taco, carnitas taco, and vegan chorizo quesadilla. Prices are as expected (around $15 a person depending on how many tacos you get). The food was not mind-blowing but better than average I would say. I think they would benefit from using beyond meat / impossible meat instead of whichever vegan chorizo they used. The horchata was GREAT though, get it.

I got the crispy Pollo taco and a soft Pescado taco with an assortment of hot salsas they had. They have Pico de Gallo on top of some of the tacos with cucumbers and radishes on the side for a refreshing crunch. I absolutely loved their tacos and Nutella churros. I’m someone who is pretty particular with churros and I loved these ones because they were a little crispy (how I like them) as opposed to the chewy and doughiness of Lolita’s churros. You need to check this place out!!! You’ll be obsessed like me, already coming back to this place SOON!

Never before have I written a food review. But today's lunch at Taqueria El Barrio in Timeout Market has compelled me to inform the masses. If you enjoy flavor and spice please avoid this eatery at all costs. We tried 3 different tacos and each one tasted as if the meat had been cooked in an unsalted dishwasher. I am not mad or sad, rather just flabbergasted that tacos could be so bland and unsatisfying. Merry Christmas!

Food is good but if your entire party doesn’t order from here you’ll be getting your food after your friends have finished theirs, it’s so slow.Remember folks, no such thing as a labor shortage. Only owners who don’t pay enough.

We were big fans of the original El Barrio near BU, so decided to revisit old memories at their new location at Time Out Market. We felt like we’d visited a different place and were really disappointed. The tortillas were different- very crispy, chewy and difficult to eat. The taco fillings were really bland. The vegan chorizo was tasteless, when the flavor used to be mind-blowing. I don’t know what happened during the transition (other than COVID) but it seems that some of the magic has been lost along the way. Please, go back to the way things used to be!!!

Worst tacos, worst horchata, literally tastes like sweet water. The tacos had WATER (not juice) oozing out of them. Flavor was terrible. If you think this place is good you probably have never had a decent taco in your life (given this IS a collegetown, not surprised this place has volume)

Really Tasty even though the tortillas wasn’t very warm and google says that the place is closed on Tuesday’s but is open.

Extremely overpriced for mediocre food and rude service. $15 for half of a tiny quesadilla barely filled up and the workers all think they’re the best thing in the world. Never wasting my money here just to leave hungry again.

The worst tacos I’ve ever had. Still somehow $27…. Zero flavor. Tortillas were stone cold. Guac is watery. All the meat was barely seasoned & bone dry. The photos on the website aren’t accurate at all.

The tacos are cold. They taste like they were removed from the fridge and placed directly onto the plate you are served. Flavor was decent, but when you are anticipating a hot meal, the cold offsets the taste. The churros, however, were very delicious.
