Dispite the manager provides a good service, other servants rarely notice you so you're probably gonna wait for a long time if wanting to order or pay the check. The price isn't reasonable, frozen food with original price of $2 are sold at $7, and the steak are so hard to chew
The food was good not the best. There was nothing to complain or write home about. I liked the atmosphere but the service. The service was just horrible. To boot two days later my card is being swiped $100 at a time.Luckily I was on my phone when it happened or she would of drained me. I never use this card besides the same three places. More proof, well my friend ate there with me too and bam same thing happened to her at the same time same night. From a square card reader with some Asian name as the “vendor”.Use cash if you love this place. If you don’t, then keep it moving. Boston has way better to offer.
Excellent place. I keep going back. The Green Tea Salmon Soup is hands down simply marvelous. Try it! I go here weekly. Fully enjoy. So why 4 stars? Always room for improvement for any place but this is definitely one of the best spots to eat fresh sushi. I've been coming here for years and still enjoy. I'm from Boston and love trying various venues but this is one of my favs for seafood.
Probably the highest quality sushi in the area. I wish there were more variety of basic rolls (regular shrimp tempura, etc.) and I would definitely buy from here much more often if they had a lunch special that most sushi places have. It is definitely pricier than other places. I've always enjoyed this place when I eat in as well.
Good food, although I'd have preferred more variety. The staff is very nice.
Food is overpriced for the quality of the food in a takeout order. The Takoyaki was cooked perfectly and was crunchy and good. However it was missing the accompanying sauces that are dressed on top. It had none of the sauces The bonito flakes shown in the photo were also very very few. Compared to the photo there was around 20% of what was supposed to be present. If it had the sauce and Bonito flakes it would have been a 7/10 with these curital item missing it it's a 3/10.The Beef Don was very good but for the price it was underwhelming. When paying double the price for this item I would expect the quality to increase. However it tastes like any other. 5/10The Yellowtail Serrano was poorly prepared with the skin still partially left on. It was still ok corners were cut in the preparation 5/10
Excellent food, and rather inexpensive at that. You can get a tasty, balanced meal that is neither too greasy not too salty, served fast by friendly waiters, sitting down and relaxing in a non crowded hall, for the same price of a sandwich at busy salty crowded Panera next door. This is our family's go-to place when we are in the Symphony Square neighborhood, usually for music related stuff.
I went to Symphony Sushi with my brother and sister and the service was absolutely terrible. The host was pretty nice, but I can't say the same for the server. We were we ordering when he walked away to do something. We literally had to get his attention to complete our order. We ordered miso soup as an appetizer and got it after our food was brought in. We ordered 2 plates of miso salmon and he forgot to get our white rice but remembered the orders for 3 other tables around us. When the table near us asked for a cold beer he accommodated them immediately. We didn't get the rice until we had to leave and took it to go. Adding to all of this, we asked for straws and the water brought unwrapped straws in his bare hands and placed them straight into our cups. It was absolutely disgusting and none of us drank our water. We made a to go order and forgot the soup. He did comp the miso soup but the experience was disappointing. The food was great and everything was fresh, but service was more than lacking. What's even more disappointing is we're visible POCs, ethnically and religiously and were the only ones treated this way by the server. Your staff needs to do better.
A classic! We lived in Boston 5+ years ago and revisited this place to experience old times as students. Didn't disappoint! The portions are still generous and prices are comparatively cheaper to all other restaurants nearby. Lunch specials around $12 for a big bento lunch plus miso soup and maki lunch has very generous portions of fish!
I feel sorry for the kitchen as the food was fine, but the service we received was unacceptable. Our party of 6 arrived at 7 pm and sat down at 7:05. For 15 minutes we were ignored; no one came to take our order or bring water or plates. We waved to get a waitress' attentio and and placed our order at 7:20. Then we still didn't get any water, plates, or food until we grew impatient and pestered the waitress again at 7:40. Sushi started coming up at 7:50 for the table, but I had to leave at 8 for symphony, without having received the ramen I had ordered 40 min ago.So two of us left for symphony without our meals. I talked to the host to make sure he understood the service issues and the delay, and he promised that my ramen item would be removed, but he didn't execute that once I left. Later my four friends finished their meals and received a surprise bill with 18% gratuity already pre-calculated. They asked for the manager only to get into an argument. This was my first visit and will be my last, very disappointing and upsetting experience.
