We were seated and waited 20+ minutes while nobody came to take our order. We had to physically get up and walk over to a waiter to request their service. It was not overly busy - plenty of empty tables around us, so not sure what the excuse was. Once we put in our order, we never received waters, and the waiter literally did not come back even once to check on us or take more drink orders. We had to ask some other random employee for the check and one more round of drinks. They were also not serving certain items on the menu - not sure what Mexican restaurant doesn't serve enchiladas, which was the only reason I really came here to begin with. Probably won't be back, which is a shame, as we used to come here a lot before hockey games and events @ Agannis.
We tried to eat here. After waiting a couple of minutes. The host was a bit rude and after hearing that we want to eat, he said that he can offer chips. Bad experience; we are not going back there.
Love their nachos and they are HUGE. Pros: portions are great, their mixed drinks are strong, plenty of seating. Cons: can be really noisy if it's crowded, service can be slow. All in all, I love coming here with friends but I try to beat the rush if I can.
The atmosphere was totally acceptable given the location across the street from a huge university and the Agganis Arena. Theres a decent draft menu and the food looked good though I was just there for a couple of drinks. The women's bathroom was horrific though, hence 4 stars.
I just love the portion of the nachos and fillings, and that's the expectation that it meets
God awful food that probably all came out of cans, jars or bottles. The nachos tasted like the ingredients were picked from 7-11 past midnight. If you're drunk and can't tell your left hand from your right, you might rate it 3 stars. We will NOT be returning. Ever.
Great drinks, knowledgeable staff, definitely a top-tier experience
The food was acceptable, and the service was actually good. Servers (not waiters) and host were NOT wearing masks. Curious -the gym upstairs is listed as Brookline, while this restaurant lists itself as Boston. Rules dodging perhaps?
I came here after my graduation with my family, we chose to sit outside because it was full inside. We had to wait 30 minutes before anyone came out to take our food order. We then waited an extra hour for our food and had to ask a waiter to come back and bring us utensils and some missing items from our order. The chicken nachos, rice and curly fries were cold. When we asked for the check and to order one last drink we were met with an attitude. We were willing to sit outside in the middle of October for some good food and drinks and all we got was bad service. As a person who works right up the street I’ve always loved coming here but must say that I will no longer come to sunset cantina.
Wonderful food and drinks and the service is just amazing!!
