The food was good and the service was excellent! I would have liked the noise level to be a bit lower, but all in all- would go back!
My husband and I were visiting Boston and came to Solas our first night and fell in love with it, we came back each night. The staff is amazing especially Billy who was always so great at working to get us a table without having to wait too long and just so friendly and down to earth. I am in customer service and so nice to see it done will here. Wish we had this place where we live. Great food, everything we had was amazing. You canât go wrong with this place.
Solas is our go to place when we are able to eat upstairs. Downstairs, by the bar, it is simply way too loud. When I made the reservation for last night, I requested an upstairs table. Unfortunately, when we arrived we were seated downstairs and had to shout to each other over our food.
Great apps and drinks!
My wife and I stopped here for lunch before we left Boston on a later flight as it was close to our hotel. After hitting several Irish bars over a long weekend we both decided to go a little away from the usual, so my wife got their Cuban special and I got the chicken pot pie. Both were wonderful, but I will say their take on the Cuban is a couple steps above. And the atmosphere is great, not to mention the bar choices. Plus it seemed like a spot the locals hit, which says a lot. This will definitely become one of our spots when we are back in the area.
Wonderful time! We went there to add to my birthday week celebrations. First time there and it was pretty crowded, by luck, we managed to find four seats at the bar! I’m a bartender in Western Ma and the bartender at Solas was incredibly skilled! He was able to get multiple drinks on the table and keep up with tabs at a fast pace (the multitasking was very impressive). When I ordered my usual Blue Hawaiian they didn’t have the blue curaçao, but without skipping a beat he was able to mix something similar for me that tasted a bit like a mix between a blue Hawaiian and a pina colada! It was delectable and tres tropical! The bouncer was also friendly and went out of his way and above his usual duties offering to help our struggling party take photos!
Food and drinks were good. Place gets really busy but itâs one of our all time go to places in back bay
Our lunch at Solas was fine: the drinks -- an Allagash White and the Blueberry Lemonade cocktail, were great. The Chopped Salad with chicken ($21) was good and huge; the Green Salad ($12) came with a non-gluten-free disk of goat cheese, which was removed and replaced with straight Feta. The after-lunch Redbreast 12 ($16) was terrific. But when we stopped in the next evening for drinks, the hostess's face fell, and we were pointed to a corner with stools facing a wall. No thank you, not with so many other bars in the area offering a welcome on a rainy evening. Not your typical Irish pub, unfortunately.
Really great Irish bar! Fresh food, good drinks, and good atmosphere!
It was our stop before the Red Sox game. We had drinks and wings that were outstanding w a mango, tangy sauce. Yummy. Sat outside w the sun shining-fun start to game day!
