Funky space full of a lot of fun energy. Nontraditional but absolutely amazing sushi for dinner with cocktails to match. Great night! Will return!
Came here for dinner and loved this place! The inside decor was super cute, all tropical themed. The food was good but the portion sizes are a little small for the prices. The shore leave signature cocktail was also very good. Would definitely come here again!
I was expecting much more from this place… it is a baseman decorated with Asian/Pacific design trying to give you the tropical vibe…. Not very successful. Cocktails experimental and creative not always positive …. Food is Chinese sushi…. Expensive and low avg. quality. Not recommend unless you go for drinks with friends.
This was a cute basement restaurant. I originally saw a TikTok that featured the restaurant and while it wasn't as cute as the tik tok made it seem.... it was still nice. Music was a bit loud and random but service was quick and friendly. The tater tots were the star of the show.
Super fun and carefree place! The street entrance is a Simone door that leads down several stairs but then opens up into a beautiful room that is a cross between the inside of an old boat and a classy Polynesian bar. Staff is bubbly, nice and professional. The food - lots of delicious sharing apps, excellent sushi and a variety of burgers is excellent and sure to please for a nibble or a big meal with plenty of variety. The drinks - many served in cool pottery mugs are really good and we tried several of the most popular. The crowd is young and hip for the most part - not a tourist place at all. This is really worth a visit. It’s in the Ink Block area and owned by the folks who own Bar Mezzana so you know they know what they’re doing : )) Check it out. We will definitely be back soon.
This place is so fun! It’s located underground so a little hard to find. The cocktails are super amazing! Also want to mention the sushi bar is so phenomenal! The chef was very professional and friendly. Highly recommended!
TL;DR - Despite being below sea level, Shore Leave is a nice quaint place with great service, good food, and fantastic drinks. You won't be disappointed here. Kudos for the humor in the drink menu.Service -We were sat very quickly and our server was very down to earth and kind. Sydney put in our orders and the food arrived no less than 5 minutes later. Fantastic speed coupled with a great server is definitely a good way to start. Sydney will definitely get a good tip.Food -Grilled Shiitake: Very flavorful vegetarian nigiri, despite being a bit overpriced.Karaage Chicken Sandwich - One of the best chicken sandwiches that I've had in the area. (Suggested by Sydney)Spicy Avocado Roll - Just as one would expect, this was a fantastic display of a great vegetarian "sushi" option.Okonomiyaki Tater Tots - We ordered this dish without the bonito, since my partner is allergic. But this was still a great dish, definitely made possible by the katsu sauce. While the cheese is a bit like Velveeta, and I'm sure some people like that, I would have preferred a more homemade solution. But this is still a great dish. Don't skip it!Gyoza (vegetarian): Just as one would expect, this dish came out perfectly cooked and very flavorful. It's rare that I have so few complaints.Drinks -Haymaker Punch: A subtly flavored cocktail with a prominent ginger flavor. This is a very nice and relaxing drink, similar to a Moscow Mule made with rum. Don't skip this one.The Shore Leave Cocktail: Being the most popular cocktail on the menu, I definitely expected more. While it is quite tasty, I found it to be too acidic and heavy in tart flavor. Don't get me wrong. I still drank it. But it seemed more like a lime punch, which won't be nice for anyone with heartburn.Plantation Peru: This drink has a slight licorice taste due to the bitters but it's not overpowering. This is a refreshing twist on an Old Fashioned.Query's Rum Manhattan: With a slight taste of spice, the fluff really makes this drink pop! Very nice.
We got married at Shore Leave Feb '22 and it was a phenomenal experience from start to finish. Marissa was a pleasure to work with, and made everything for our day perfect. The food was amazing, many guests said it was the best sushi they had ever had! Drinks were gorgeous and delicious and the entire bar staff was so kind and exuberant. The space is so beautiful and we can't recommend it enough.
The burgers here and the veggie ? sushi rolls are legendary !
