So many great options! I had the Southwestern Pastrami, minus the Mayo, hands down the best pastrami sandwhich I’ve ever had! My MIL had the Chef Salad, everything in it was so fresh, and she said the blue cheese dressing was great!
Normally I would give Sam’s a 5 but after today I have to lower my score to a 4 because of their prices. Best hot pastrami I’ve ever had in my 70 years and today did not disappoint. It was a sweet and tasty as ever. But I have to admit I was shocked at their prices. I haven’t been in years but was still amazed: $50 for 2 sandwiches, small chips and no drinks. Also my wife and I agree they have cut back on the size of the sandwich. I used to struggle to finish one and my wife would always save half for later. We both had no trouble finishing our sandwiches today. I can’t imagine the kind of money people are making to be able to eat here regularly. All in all though they do make a fabulous sandwich.
This is some of the best Pastrami in the city. The location is great for tourists and those working downtown, but the price point is out of reach for people looking for a work lunch. Come and try it once, especially if you want something quick and delicious. But this is not a place that can really become a staple, especially since their prices doubled.
Tried to grab lunch the day we arrived but they close at 2 pm so we went back the next day around noon. All four of us got a different sandwich and we each said, “This is the best sandwich I have ever had!” The serving size is enormous so you could easily split one. The sandwiches are quite pricey but they were hefty and soooo good we felt they were worth it. Certainly couldn’t afford to eat there every day, but worth a visit now and then. Highly recommend!
We just happened to be walking by so we had to jump in and grab a sandwich. We decided to share a pastrami Reuben.....it was melt in your mouth delicious, but at $22 each that is a little steep for us. Same sandwich cost $12 in the Detroit area. Worth the splurge though.
I have been going there for over 30 years getting lunch or ordering lunch never ever in over 30 had nothing but grate food
I ordered the pastrami traveler. I know good pastrami, because I make it myself. This was not very flavorful pastrami and although pastrami is normally a fatty meat, this was so loaded with fat it seemed like I got less than half meat and mostly fat. Trim the fat, guys! The bread was paper thin and wasn't really what I would call grilled it was just pressed even thinner on some George foreman type hot plate. Served with pickles that tasted like some bad chemical got into the brine. All this for a bargain basement price of $25. The sign says world's #1 sandwiches, which only reminded me of the scene from the movie "Elf" where Elf congratulated the coffee shop for having the world's best coffee. There were other colleagues joining me on this lunch, I didn't hear anyone declaring any accolades. I'll not be going back.
Highly recommend!!!! It was really good! Everyone so kind and environment was so cosy and comfortable. The best sandwich I have had ever!!!
Absolutely phenomenal sandwiches. Swapped halves in order to try two sandwiches and the Chipotle Pastrami and Pastrami Rachel were both delicious. Pickle wasn't my favorite, but that wasn't the focus of the meal. The prices are daunting, but worth it.
I have been CRAVING a really good reuben sandwich for several weeks... it's one of those things I haven't been able to find in southern-NH. I traveled to Boston today for (thankfully!) the last follow-up appointment I'll need with my spinal surgeon. He was running an hour late, so instead of getting out of the city by lunch, I found myself at TD Garden just before 1PM. I have been hankering for a reuben, and Google indicated I was in close proximity to LaGrassa's... who unabashedly proclaims to have "the best sandwiches in the world"... so off I went. I am SO glad I did! Now, in truth, it wasn't the best reuben I've ever had. For the last 35 years I have been spoiled during semi-annual sojourns to NYC. Hitting a deli for a reuben is the first thing I ALWAYS do upon my arrival in Gotham. First, I fell in love with The Stage Deli... it's where my wife and I dined immediately after we got engaged... but then, they closed. For many years afterwards, during my trips to NYC for the NFBC, I hit The Carnegie Deli on my way to my hotel... but then, alas, they too closed. For the last yen years, I have gone to Katz's Delicatessen (I wish I'd found Katz's back in the late 80's, because I think they have the best reuben in the city... BEST I have ever eaten). I am a bit of a reuben zealot, and a reuben snob!! And I want to enjoy a GOOD reuben more than twice each year... and now that I found LaGrassa's I can! The LaGrassa's sandwich was VERY good. There were two issues that prevented my visit from being rated 5-star: One, there were two slices of VERY fatty corner beef on the sandwich... as in, one was about 80% fat and the other about 60% fat. It was not what I want when I dive into my sandwich. Secondly, the people in the kitchen should have taken the time to drain the sauerkraut... there was too much juice and the lower piece of bread was too soggy... by a long shot. Otherwise, the sandwich was a home run!! Lots of tasty corned beef... lots of delicious sauerkrat... lots of special sauce. SO good! The pickles were very good, as well. So while the sandwich wasn't perfect, it was worth the trip down from Manchester, NH... and I will regularly return to get my reuben fix... again and again and again!
