This place is apparently the most well-known place for Cape Verdian food in Boston, so I dropped by to try some.We tried to go for the dish that was the least familiar to us and ended up getting the traditional katchupa and the refried katchupa. I preferred the texture of the traditional one better as the refried one was very dry. Without any sauce, the refried katchupa also tasted a tad bland. On the other hand, the traditional katchupa came in a stew style which compensated for the dry texture of the hominy. The dish overall was quite simple, but I liked its rugged touch that made it feel like a homemade meal.
Horrible service we had a large party of 14 took hr and a half to get our drinks. Took another hr before some of our party's food started coming out they made us all order together u would think the food would come out that way. They forgot 2 peoples plates altogether and when those 2 plates did come out 2 and a half hours later it was cold .Sad birthday girl whom we was celebrating of course was the last plate to come out she ending up taking to go. Would not recommend
I went there for my birthday and felt very special. Although I couldn't stay to eat my food, I enjoyed the service and waiters there. Thank you for making my day special even while sick.
First time eating Yucca fries and I enjoyed them! Staff was very friendly and laid back.
The Good: The food taste GoodThe Bad: It takes 45min to get your food and in the evenings there is a nauseating bad that WAY too Loud for it to be background music for dinner. It’s club volume loud not even lounge. Not sure I would recommend unless doing take out.
I extreme discrimination at the door of this establishment. and profiling, I was denied seating because they only do reservations after calling the restaurant and being told they do not do any reservations. So after seating in the waiting area for 30 min waiting for a friend, n watching multiple table being cleaned I realized they only seat you down when they personally know you or you are only able to make a reservation if u personally know the staff. This is discrimination and I am reporting this establishment. to better business bureau...I've always said our people need to do better.. and this ridiculous
Our first experience wasn't pretty Good, private party, packed place with cops included in the service and our food took almost 45 minutes. Despite all, the atmosphere was quite amiable, with live music and amazing food. Perfect taste from Cabo Verde and our server provided an outstanding service.
Service and food was NOT good. Took a solid 30 minutes to get bread. Had to ask for a server. Had to put in our order 3 times. Appetizers and entrees came at the same time… ordered the seafood rice and everything was mushy almost like it was sitting in too much water.. not good.

This place has a warm nostalgic feel. Gourmet Cape Verdean cuisine cooked fresh every day. It might take a little longer than your average restaurant but it’s worth the wait. Check out the live music + full band and brunch buffet on Sundays, I’m not sure but I think there another day with the buffet selection is available, check and see.
