The food was fantastic and the staff were very personable and attentive. Many of the dishes had a unique use of spices which added a lot of flavor. Highly recommend trying some of their cocktails. The seating was also very very comfortable - a small detail that so many restaurants overlook.
Five of us were happy to find Peregrine on our last night in town. The space is modern with a very high ceiling. There is a view on Charles Street and a garden view in the interior.I liked that the menu had a few selections in each menu category. It was easy to focus and make our choices.I recall chunks of Reggiano with honey. I had a wonderful steak. My niece had a chicken dish, there was a pasta. A variety of choices beautifully executed. The cook was perfect.I also want to commend our server. She was very professional and politePeregrine is on my Favorites list.
The food was fantastic and the staff were super personable and attentive. Iâll definitely be coming back!
Exceptional. Cozy and relaxed. The snacks menu is superb, especially the parsnip dip! My husband raved over the fresh, tender gulf shrimp, in a sauce of complex flavors. The waitstaff were genuine, chill, seemed really happy to be working with each other and admired the chefâs creativity as much as we did. Weâve already made another reservation to come back.
The food was terrible. Both tasteless and overly seasoned at the same time. The cocktails were bad as well. Almost no alcohol and not proportioned properly. Much too expensive for what you get.
Sigh every so often we stop at Peregrine for dinner knowing the food will be an enthusiastic amateur mixup There is a lot of waitstaff but no one seems to know what their role is. Silver that has been used is left for ecological reasons and then removed by the next server. People are constantly coming by and asking if food has been delivered but do not seem to know what food- courses arrive for one person and not another. This time I had what was billed as a seafood paella - the dried out seafood arrived on a bed of salty Israeli couscous- a true paella lover is still wincing about this mishmash, My husband had what was billed as mussels cooked in a light tomato broth- I suppose vaguely Spanish again but the shellfish were very over cooked mussels and clams and the tomato broth lacked both the flavor of the sea and garlic and other herbs all of which made it bland and sad. The appetizers were ok but all misnamed- I have been in Sicily a few times- never saw a Sicilian pizza that was a topping smeared on a flatbread The lowest point though was my husbands order of a petillant natural Italian wine. He was given a half pour from the dregs of a bottle-it was the color of unfiltered apple juice and the bubbles had been gone at least for a day. He complained and was given a full pour from a newer bottle- still a bit odd but at least petillant Everyone is vague, enthusiastic and untrained- they need adult supervision- it will be a while before we try again
Love the small pretty Peregrine . The food is unique and delicious and the service is impeccable . Small menu but something for everyone . Lots of flavor .
Price fix dinner- kale twice , couldâve done a different side
the service was fantastic. however, 2 of the dishes were extremely salty.
Peregrine is a charming restaurant tucked away in Back Bay, on the ground floor of the Whitney Hotel. As befits a restaurant situated inside one of the city's best boutique hotels, it exudes a sense of class - you feel like you're dining inside the well-appointed brownstone of a Boston Brahmin. The menu features a mix of classic Italian dishes with New England ingredients. I ordered a negroni for my drink, which I thought was well done. We got the focaccia with anchovy and butter as our starter - the bread was fresh and the anchovy was incredibly savory, with the butter helping take some of the edge off.For mains, my girlfriend got the pomodoro and I got the Peregrine steak. Her dish was simply done and delicious, with the pasta prepared al dente. I asked them to replace the broccolini in the steak with a kale salad, which our server Romy kindly accommodated. The steak was prepared well, cooked medium rare (pink but not bloody), with the sides adding a spicy kick for extra flavor.Overall Peregrine is a low-key classy restaurant you go to when you want to have a guaranteed well done meal in a nice atmosphere.
