Stopped by here last weekend after a visit to the Museum of Fine Arts. Their house beer is actually quite good and at $4 a glass or $14 for a pitcher it's a steal. I split a margarita pizza with my party and we enjoyed it - the basil was nice and fresh. Could've done for thinner slices of tomato in my opinion, but the pizza was good! Crust was thin and tasty. Also the vibe inside is nice. Good spot to watch a game. I'd recommend if you're in the area and want something fairly priced and tasty. Bartenders were nice and friendly as well. We'll be back!
Buzzing atmosphere. Friendly staff with attentive and timely service. A great selection of ales. Tasty pizza. All in all, everything you want from a bar.
The pizza is awesome, thin crust Italian style, great crust and exceptional specialty pies. Great beer selection as well. The star of the show are the staff in all of this. Pamela, the owner, is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. Treats patrons and staff with great respect and as if you were family. Can’t wait to go back
Great food. Great atmosphere. Great employees and great owners that give back to the community regularly. I am a regular customer here. Recent bad reviews are coming from folks that have never been to this business and think they are teaching the Mayor a lesson about a mandate requirement. This is a mandate businesses have to follow if they want to stay open. I also don't agree with the mandate but destroying a small business for something they cannot control is not right. Protest your government not a small business struggling to survive. The one-star reviews will not change what the Mayor has enacted but it will harm a loved local business. How does that help your cause? I urge everyone to go to the Penguin, try the food, speak to the staff and write an honest review.
This place is awesome! The pizza is delicious and they have gluten-free. During the height of the pandemic they where delivering at home pizza kits with all the trimmings to keep the kids busy, staff are friendly and knowledgeable of the menu items. 5 star rating because this place never disappoints!
Penguin Pizza is one of the best restaurants in the area. Whether you opt to dine in or take out the food is consistently good and always fresh. Aside from their delicious menu, I want to make special mention to the staff who have worked tirelessly, particularly over the last couple of years, where they have faced many challenges (which sadly continues). They are a wonderful part of the community and do so much more for that community than just serve food. In an already difficult world, I urge you to stop and consider how hard this small business, and other small businesses are working to stay afloat. Be kind … and eat pizza!
Penguin is a Mission Hill staple. I practically lived there in college and try to get back as much as possible now that I’m out in the burbs. The disgusting political/vaccine induced attacks you’ll read on here don’t tell the real story of how incredible this place is. The staff are hard working and knowledgeable and the pizza is top notch. The beer selection is amazing and the low key atmosphere is the setting for countless amazing memories over the year. Don’t let the drama on some of these reviews sour you from embracing everything this awesome place has to offer.
It’s always a good vibe and great food at Penguin. In addition to the best pizza, they’re also a great community member. This establishment has a long history of giving back to the local community. So not only is the food AMAZING, you also feel good knowing this business is an integral part of the community.
Penguin Pizza is a special place. A family feel with staff that makes you feel as if you are Norm from Cheers. Excellent food, excellent beer, and service/staff that is truly second to none! There is no where better in all of Boston!
Had the best food in Penguin pizza Mission Hill, staff were amazing, so kind!! I heard about this place while I was in BCH with my daughter who was having heart surgery, the amount of giving back the Penguin does to the Community and the hospitals around the area is unreal!! I Spoke to the staff who were all about giving back! My husband and I had the most delicious fires, pizza and salad! Really and truly the best neighborhood restaurant!
