Ordered the red curry special in a coconut first and it was super oily. I explained this and they nicely made a green curry with less oil. Both lacked flavor and consistency. And I’m not sure what kind of blue dye I might’ve been eating with the green curry. Paid and left without eating.
First off, kudos to 'My Thai' for offering vegan pan-Asian food in the heart of Boston. It was fun to be able to head there with friends to try their wares. That said, the food was hit and miss. Really good noodles ('Pad see Ew') and fresh rolls, but the two "Thai curries" we tried were thin and lacking flavour I've come to know from Thai food I seek. All said, if you're vegan and looking for a guaranteed vegan Asian meal, 'My Thai' is worth it.
Head up a dingy stairwell and it opens into a rather nice space with plenty of light and plants. After that, your best bet is to go back down because the food and service suck. Both our fake beef entrees were bland, even though they showed as triple chili spicy on the menu. No brown rice option. Very little meat. Fried dumplings were actually good. Service was nonexistent, uncommunicative, and glacial. Won’t be back.
10 stars for the food! It is so delicious. It's the best vegan food we've had in last 5 days of ours in Boston. Huge portions and finger licking deliciously delicious. Just be proactive to get the attention of the server to get a table and place your order. They are under staffed and it will stay that way because it appears the family doesn't want to hire anyone lol but the food is worth a visit.
A lovely place with a gentle atmosphere it gets with all the plants. Staff are very friendly and are very nice. Their food is perfect for lunch or dinner, and very affordable for the quality you get. Can't wait to go back for lunch again ?
There are so many food variations. This place is great for vegans/vegetarians. The price is fair and competitive. My wife and I orderd the papaya salad, pad thai, pad see eu, and an appetizer. The papaya salad has a mix salad for garnish, with vegan chicken (setan), fresh tomatoes, and sauce. The pad thai has peanuts, bean sprouts and a sauce. All dishes can accommodate to spice level and vegan meat choice or tofu. A must try for Boston Chinatown.
Great vegan restaurant! They have a wide variety of Thai dishes and you can pick your protein. I went ahead and got a little bit of everything and was impressed. The "beef" was the most convincing in appearance, while the "shrimp" was least convincing in taste. Overall though everything tasted great, and I've been back a few times! Service is usually quick.
Everything here is so delicious and you can tell it’s all made with love. I had the pumpkin curry which was out of this world and I could have Thai iced boba from here every day of my life
Best Thai vegan place you can find around Boston. Plenty of options to choose from - pad thai remains my all time favourite. I have been coming here for 2 years now, you won't get bored trying out all the amazing dishes. Must try for any vegetarian/vegan person!
Food looks good but its mediocre, service is bad/ there not rude but there was no acknowledgement as a server. Both of our waters had white stuff in it. Silverware was dirty as if they just rinse it with no soap or any type of brushing . The mango fried rice was a 1/5 ( the shrimp was little to none/ chopped up) My noodles had full shrimps in it though.
