HOME RUN! The rare 5 star review. And totally deserved, on a consistent basis. This is the breakfast Eating experience you must add to your “did it” list. Giant portions, every breakfast item you want to choose from. Rapid and attentive service, and you feel like you are in a local “one of a kind” place on the corner, better to walk to, but parking is around, just make sure you can parallel park! Get here and enjoy. Ps, not just for breakfast!
Local diner featured on Triple D. It’s a bit out of the way from touristy spots, so you know that it really is a local gem. Came here around noon and the line was long, but somehow we only waited for about 15 minutes. The staff will put your name down on a list along with your party size. Indoor dining only. Credit cards are now accepted. There’s one single occupant restroom by the kitchen. It’s a kid-friendly spot. Portions are huge, so you may considering sharing. The food was delicious. The clam chowder was probably the best I’ve ever eaten in Boston, as there was some sort of thyme/rosemary hint in the soup that added some extra nuance. We got the corned beef hash with our eggs over easy, home fries, and rye toast (pre-buttered). We also got the fried chicken dinner which came with your choice of two sides - we got green beans and fries. The fries were golden and the chicken was super crispy. Service was nice but on the slow side. Overall, a good casual spot when you’re feeling hungry and are wanting some comfort diner food.
Unfortunately Mike's has dropped the ball. My family was craving breakfast food and Mike's was an old school favorite. But unfortunately our food was a disaster. I ordered chicken and waffles and my chicken fingers we're re fried like from a previous order. The chicken was clearly burnt and dry. And my waffle was flat and flavorless. The other meals had similar complaints whether under cooked or over cooked foods.. This was very disappointing.. Should Have Went To South Street..!!!!!$46.07 Wasted and I will NEVER RETURN..!!

We have had two great breakfasts here during our visit to Boston. Delicious food. Big portions. Friendly staff. Good value.
Great food, reminds me of all of the best diner breakfast I've ever had. Definitely hits the spot! Banana chocolate chip pancakes were delicious
Great little place with great reviews that are well deserved. Huge portions no matter what you get. Merry done great guys who were sitting at the bar and had a great conversation over breakfast. Service was helpful and happy. Highly recommend for your trip to Boston.
Established customer here. Been coming to Mike’s for 20+ years. Yesterday, I had an amazingly HORRIBLE experience. Server was very abrupt & impatient in taking our breakfast order. He then brought out food that I did not order. I don’t like to send food back but I have a food allergy to the item he brought out so I told him, he responded by telling that’s what I ordered. Because of my food allergy, I would have never ordered what he brought out but rather than get into a back & forth, I let it go. My fruit cup was full of blueberries that clearly had freezer burn! When i told the server, he said (as a matter-of-factly) “yes, they’re frozen.” He never bothered checking in with us to see if everything was okay. Couldn’t get my coffee topped off to save my life. To make matters worse, when I paid the bill with my card the server had the NERVE to enter his tip and charge my card! When I asked him why he did that, he denied doing so and told me I must’ve done it. I didn’t. I asked him who determined the amount of the tip/ entered it. He said he had no idea. I did call to speak with the manager about this. The manager cut me off, dropped several F bombs describing how everyone is on edge these days and service workers are catching the brunt of people’s attitudes. I was shocked at how unprofessional this person was. Needless to say I will never step foot inside of this establishment again.
100% recommend. Incredible service and a great setting for that authentic diner experience. The portions are ginormous. Just a side portion of pancakes was enough for one person. And it wasn't all about size, the quality was incredible too. This really is a must visit if you are in Boston
Comforting breakfast diner… love it. You show up, write your name down and a piece of paper, and wait for your turn. Tons of food for what you pay for.
