The food was ok but I think it could be better. I ate a sancocho and it was somewhat watery . I also ate beef pastelitos, they were a bit salty. But the Pina colada and morir sonando we're on point. We were a bit confused when we asked for typical DR juices, like passion, tamarind, and they were like we only have limonada and morir sonando. In NY, any DR restaurant you go to has all these juices available . The restaurant is sort of big but we noticed there was not a lot of clientele, I wonder why??. But if you are in Roxbury and you need a quick bite than this is one of the spots to get a quick bite. Enjoyed my trip to Boston, but I thought I would get a similar DR restaurant experience that I get in NY and it was a bit different ?

There is not a thing that I did not enjoy about this place! The fooooood!!!! My friend is a picky eater and when I tell you that she went in, she went in!! Their fried chicken - move over franchises (yum yum), steak encebollado was tender and juicy, the beans had a great taste to it, the mofongo was amazing with the sauce they give you, yes, I went around tasting ??Can’t wait to go back, they have a very good menu and I am curious about other things.

Great food, very clean and really nice staff. In addition, lots of gluten free options. I'll be back!

Excellent food truly enjoyed I will be going back the staff was so helpful.

All I expect from a Spanish restaurant. From the Piña Colada to the mofongo to the seafood casserole was great. Servers were attentive and friendly. Can wait to go again and try a new dish.

Merengues as a food destination has been on my list for quite some time now, and I'm pleased to say I was not disappointed in the slightest ?. Once you walk in, you feel right at home with the neighborhood energy and charm. Decorum is creative; I'm pretty sure there's a moped hanging from the ceiling ?. The food was wonderful, with old-school portions that left you feeling full with extra to food to take home. We didn't have to wait very long, and the service had us feeling right at home. I will definitely revisit ?

Was out in Boston with my family for the day and decided to end the night here and it was the worst experience ever ! The way they greeted us was you need a mask to come in meanwhile we had out mask in our hand just needed time to put it on since we was carrying my kids. While the waitress was coming up to me she stated I get paid to tell customer to put there mask on. She sat us down and roughly about 10 min later another waitress came up and asked us what we want with complete attitude. Told her what we wanted and never seen her again for about an hour when my husbands food came out only his. Didn’t even ask if I wanted another drink or anything or that the food is being delayed. My food and kids food wasn’t ready yet. My husband finished eating and our food still wasn’t out. She came with my food and gives it to me over my kids head. So unprofessional. She went to take my drink that I finish an hour ago and didn’t even bother to ask if I wanted another one. I didn’t even finish my food as soon as she hand me my food I ask for the bill. This will be my first and last time in this restaurant.

The food here is absolutely amazing, I have been to Dominican Republic and this is as close as it gets to real authentic food. The place looks beautiful on the inside.

I Had not been here in years. I was amazed at how nice the inside looked and the food was delicious. No Dissapointment. Good size plates .
