I wish I could give this zero stars. I have been here before as we are staying next door at the Park Plaza. The past wasn't so bad. Today was unreal. It began at 620 pm and didn't end until 9pm. Yes 9pm, so 2 hours and 40 min for two dinners, a cup of soup, water and diet coke. It took 30 min to even get our drinks, from there it went down hill. My son order steak tips and they served him a chicken sandwich. He is gluten intolerant so yea we didn't order a sandwich and waiter Phillipe agreed. I ordered the salmon meal with NO SAUCE or ON THE SIDE, it came ON the salmon, and this was after being there almost an hour. We were given no silverware which took another 10 min to then bring to us and the meal was cold by then. Twenty min after that my son received his steak tips, which were great. However everyone that did get to eat (ie only the soup person ate) was already done. I asked for the Manager Matt, he mentioned the waiter was confused maybe over the sauce for salmon. I said no, I clarified it with him. In addition to all the waiting and no silverware and cold food and a very messed up order. In addition, to being served at different times since we had to wait another 20 min for his steak tips. In the end he comped the salmon meal, yes that is all. He said it would take him 6-7 min to remake the salmon so I could take it home. I said ok. I waited another 20 min, at the table alone since my kids had left by then. The Salmon never came by 9pm....I walked out.

What a terrible experience. We just watched the bartenders hook up their regulars, to include doing shots with them. As we paid the tab - I shared with them - one of our members is a combat vet - disabled vet, thinking hey they’ll give him a shot too - but no. They didn’t even ask about his service to our country.Sad.Most Irish bartenders care - not this place.

It was our first visit to MJ O'Connor's. We liked the interior. My husband said it reminded him of home (Ireland). We sat at a table. After sitting and waiting for 20 minutes, my husband had to ask a server if someone could take our order please. The waitress came with a couple menus and water for us. I ordered the Old Maple Fashion and my husband ordered a Guinness. The Guinness was served with foam spilling down the side. My husband didn't want to touch the glass. We had no napkins. I went to an empty table to get napkins. The Guinness was stale and not fresh. I tasted it as well. The Guinness was bad for an Irish Pub in Boston. Since the service was slow, we decided not to tell the staff. Instead, we finished our drinks. Then decided we were ready to pay and leave. Once again, no one has checked on us for 20 minutes. I turned in my chair looking for the waitress. When I saw her, she was sitting and eating at a table near the back. Also once again, my husband had to ask the same server for help. Yes, history is repeating itself (possibly more often than we know). The waitress came over with the check. We paid and left. Coming from Ireland, my husband left with a bad taste of Guinness in his mouth.

Great pub right next door to our hotel... we had a fire at the hotel and had to evacuate and it was a great refuge until we were let back into our room.Good food, good drinks, good staff...

Fish and chips were really good. Beef stew was okay. Prices are higher than your average pub probably because of the location in a downtown urban area.

We enjoyed this Irish pub! Great service that was friendly and attentive. The food was fabulous! We had the hot pretzels as appetizer and they were hot and soft- really nice. Also highly recommend the curry. Toasted almonds add a unique snd enjoyable twist and the curry was excellent! Full bar and reasonable prices.

For pub grub, this is spot on. We tried the black bean burger & chicken curry. Tasty and reasonably priced. Great service from Julio.

Nice interior, networky/middle aged atmosphere. Cocktails were all ~15 but not mixed very well considering the price and “contemporary” or up-scale pub idea. Gin pom crush could barely taste any pomegranate or even orange. Apple mule was OK, more ginger than apple. Cocktails weren’t bad but should have been much better considering price and marketing

We went there 3 times over the St Patrick’s week, the first time was on St Patrick’s day, both bars were packed, but got a drink easily enough, had great entertainment in the Irish dancers, I got the Shepard’s pie which when it eventually came was warm rather than hot, I took this as the both bars were very busy as the reason for this. The next day we popped in and sat at the main bar where the staff were very friendly and the service was good. The last visit was for the rugby so we came early and ordered 2 Irish breakfasts, we sat in the other bar, again they came up warm rather than hot, and to be honest wasn’t worth the money. The table service was very slow and not very good, I’ll leave it at that.

Stopped in for a beer and the bartender was great. Ended up staying for dinner (on a Friday evening). Not stereotypical Irish fare (no corned beef? no bangers and mash? only Irish beer was Guinness?) but we had a good burger and good fish & chip. Staff very attentive and didn't bat an eye when we asked for a cocktail made in a very specific way (as we mix it at home). We'd definitely go there again.
