This was an horrendous experience. The food was absolutely terrible. My friend and I had the cumin lamb hand pulled noodles. The noddles were very firm and tasteless, and my friend had a bug embedded in one of her noodles. The only flavors in the dish were inferior chili oil and cumin. The dish was half sprouts and carrots with not enough sauce or flavor to disperse into the vegetables. The sprouts were also not properly trimmed. The pork bun was flavorless. The bun was inedible as it had no salt or rise. The pork was akin to canned cat food.I came here expecting a good meal based on the reviews but unfortunately it turned out to be one of the worst meals I've had in Boston. Poor hygiene and poor flavor pretty much sums up this place.

Would give 4.5 if possible.A friend and I visited Boston from out of state and heard great things so we decided to try.We had the lamb skewers, hot & sour noodle soup, and hot & sour dumpling soup (per recommendations online)Firstly, the pricing is beyond reasonable. The two of us dined for under $25 and had leftovers that we regrettably had to leave behind. The lamb skewers although small - were tender, packed with flavor, and delicious. They were only $1.95 each, so again very affordable. The soup broth was unlike anything we have tried before. It’s very thin, but not in a bad way. There was a sour element which was pleasing but the spice was somewhat lacking. That being said, it’s still one of the best I’ve ever had. The dumplings took the show compared to the noodles, but both very obviously prepared fresh so that is a plus. Next time, I’ll skip the noodles and go straight for dumpling soup or try something new.The garnishes were fresh, and everything came out piping hot.The negative:Probably not their direct fault, but worth noting..Cash only for dine in as of May 2022. Inconvenient, but I can understand why they may ask for such.Small dine-in area, and A/C was off or not working. If you’re a local taking carryout it’s a non-issue. But, if you’re traveling, please note this is NOT a comfortable place to dine in (cramped, barstools, etc.) and you’ll need to be prepared with cash payment.Solid experience, and will go back. 4.5

This place is my favorite noodles place. Pictured is a #16. It's so good. I go almost everytime I work in Boston.

Great food and service. Bring cash if you order in person. Flatbread pork and lamb are amazing. Lamb noodle soup could bring you back from the dead. High recommended!!!

Order online or phone your order in ahead of time.there was only one poor girl at the front. Another girl came in but she just kind of sat down and started talking to the other girl and didn't even lift a finger. But yes indeed the food is fresh and delicious and very decently priced I might add.

Each time I order from here, I order the lamb skewers, usually two orders for myself. Food is OUTSTANDING and full of flavor. Although, I am not nearby but it is worth the wait for delivery.

When my friend told me the best noodles he's ever had were at a place called "Gene's Flatbread," I was a little skeptical. But I tried the hot and sour hand pulled noodle soup and oh my lord. That was some good soup.I'm sure the flatbreads are great here too. But honestly the noodles are so good I think I'd be missing out ordering anything else. The price is more than fair for the quality and the portion. Try it!!

Ordered hot and sour. Def delicious and punching ya mouth with the most flavor ever.HUGE portion hands down and they're not skimping on the goods. Ratio of broth and other ingredients are perfect.Noodles are impressive especially when they're hand pulled. It was a great time first experience. Would do it again if the noodles were "store bought" than homemade... just my preference. Extremely fatty**

This place is great, one of my top places I missed during the pandemic work from home. The hand pulled noodles are awesome, just those with a side of lamb skewers and/or tea egg is perfect, but the soups with pulled noodles like in the picture are amazing also. Now (Nov'21) you can order online thru their website, and you can even put in your order and pay with cash when you get there if you want. Gene's is better than ever.

Seasoning was flavorful, every other aspect of the lamb noodles we got was terrible. It was a giant mass of doughy congealed noodles and maybe five little bites of lamb. The lamb was gone in 2 minutes and I was left eating seasoned dough for 20 minutes before I gave up.
