Everything on my plate just wasn’t right the greens were under seasoned and overcooked, the mac & cheese was dry, the yams were off only thing that was actually good was the fried chicken. I love my soul food but this is a place I wouldn’t visit again.
I would of gave 5 stars because the food is great and clean! but Only reason i give 3 stars is because on two occasions that i have called the Same person a male not only lied about not having certain items available and when calling me thru grub hub was ghetto and rude that was the fisrt time...on a second time tried to give it another chance i was tired frm work hungry diabetic and pregnant i was craving for soul food this was a différent month i called and same male answers he was very rude again all i asked was tje time they open he sucked his teeth and said 12 noon i said thankyou and he jst hangs up wowww now on Google it says the open from 11am to 10pm so idkseems like he does not like doing his job so maybe he should quit! and if he is the owner that will make him look very bad for his buisness i dnt think im going to order frm here anymore and i will advise others i know ahead of time jsr in case
Just Got 3 plates of bbq wings greens and bake mac n cheese for me my husband and son ? never again the food taste like pure salt I could not enjoy the natural flavors of the greens mac ncheese or chicken my 18 yr old spit it out after two bites my husband gave his plate away Ive been cooking for over 27 years and I do not overly season or use salt like this place lawd have mercy? my stomach hurt just from 5 bites I tried to eat much as I could because it was very pricey but big mistake now I feel sick I only bought it because I was to tired to cook and was working and hungry and nuw I'm disappointed I wanted better from this place ☹️

Yummy food! I highly recommend Food For The Soul. My family and I had a delicious lunch. This restaurant is not far from Franklin Park Zoo, so go to the zoo and then head over for a good meal!
My brother from Atlanta came to see me today and purchased a haddock sandwich from here and I don’t leave reviews but who ever seasoned that fish may the ancestors✊? keep shaking your hand. ??? Yes that sandwich was bomb I’m very pleasedYah bless????
Walked in the place was clean the person that took my order was the head chef not sure if you spell your name shawn or sean but your customer service was spot on and my food was on point greens seasoned to perfection mac was cheesy mashed potatoes was just right yellow rice was great only thing was my rotisserie chicken was a little dry other that you still get 5 stars and my continued business.

One star for the customer service. When working with people you would think that the workers have the ability to deal with difficult situations instead of being straight rude. The woman who answers the phones was very rude, we had miscommunication due to uber eats not allowing each other to contact one another. i thought it was on their end however it wasn’t either of our faults which is understandable, however, you should never be rude to a customer. The food was good the customer service just sucks
