One or our favorites. However the crowd at the bar was so loud, that it was impossible to carry on a conversation at our table when we sat down for our 5:30 reservation. Things quieted down somewhat after 6:30.
The fish and chips I had here a year ago was âthe best fish and chips Iâve ever had in my life.â So I came back. And while I didnât expect it to live up to the âBEST OVER OMGâ memory, it was definitely not the same. IT WAS STILL VERY GOOD! But it lacked whatever flavor and dark golden brown crispness that put last yearâs over the top. The service was attentive. The atmosphere is great. The collage of photos on the walls leading down to the rest rooms is stunning. Seriously, you could get lost in them if people didnât need to use the stairs all the time. Do I plan to come back next time Iâm in Boston? Hell yes. And by all means, order the side garden salad even if you have to take it home. Delicious!
On a return trip from Ireland my wife and I googled and found Emmett’s. Now we had eaten some true Irish food in Ireland but my wife really loved the fish and chips at Emmett’s. So much so that we ate there again last night. My favorite was the Irish sampler platter
Service was very responsive. Food was good and prepared quickly. Very large portions.
We love coming to Emmets Pub, but last night, during the heat wave, the restaurant was just too hot!! My husband and I were sweating just sitting at our table. Other than that, the food is great (fish and chips are awesome!) and the service also good.
Food and service were great but it was extremely hot in the restaurant
This is a Irish restaurant right next to Suffolk University right on Beacon Street. Staff was very nice and we were seated and attended to very quickly. Had a decent spread of food but obviously majored around some Irish meals.I ordered a cup of New England clam chowder and a burger and fries. The chowder was delicious. So thick you could eat it with a fork and was loaded with clams and potatoes. Burger was with bacon and Cabot cheddar cheese. Delicious as well. And the prices were very reasonable being in the heart of Boston.Highly recommend it and definitely will return on my next adventure to Boston!
Brunch- Everything we had was very good. The Corned Beef Hash with sweet potatoes and French Toast were excellent
Saw on TripAdvisor, listed as the #1 Irish place to eat! Highly recommend for the food!!!! Service…ehhh…could definitely be better. First time in Boston~First place to eat!! So excited!!! We asked our waitress about food recommendations…her reply everything on the menu is good…well…not really what we wanted to hear…we looked ourselves & they had a taste of Ireland! It’s a sampler of THE BEST SHEPHERDS PIE YOU WILL EVER HAVE!!!! Also came with Irish stew & Chicken pot pie. Was delicious but I could have went for a while serving if that shepherds pie? My husband got the fish sampler, consisting of fish sandwich & clam chowder~of which he said was some of the best food he’s ever has!!! It’s a small place, so don’t expect that you will have a lot of room~Their 3 tables for 2 is one too many in this area. Go for the food!!! You won’t be disappointed!
Make sure you try their Irish coffee: it really is excellent!
