Excellent vibe,music and drinks.
Good songs but no real ability to join in as very noisy with many people talking throughout the performances. It is a young crowd but fun
Good vibes. Jumpy crowd :)
Good music all around
One star is overrating them
I “won” a Halloween happy hour party at Howl at the Moon Boston from a social media contest and I was really excited to invite all my friends and have a good time. The terms were: skip the line privileges (depending on capacity), no cover, free flow to the nightclub underneath called Down, and cheap drink specials until 10pm. I was told to invite as many friends as possible and that I didn’t need to arrive with them in order for all the specials to apply. Let me just preface the next part by explaining that I was at most tipsy during the night, but the staff members treated me like I was a drunk teenager that made their job oh-so-much harder. I’ll start with the good things first: pretty decent band playing and cheap but strong drinks. Now onto the bad: First of all, it was just completely overcrowded in the bar area at 9pm. Could barely move. There was a line wrapped around the block by 9:15 when most of my friends arrived and so they couldn’t utilize the cut the line privilege. Also, the drinks might’ve been cheap but getting them was another story. Every time I went up to the bar it would take at least 20 MINUTES to get served. I complained to one of the bartenders who responded that they take people in the order they approach the bar. This was just a flat out LIE. They would serve guys flashing $20 bills or scantily-clad women before serving me every single time. I would mention the $4 drink specials and then they would come back with a card describing the drinks and then walk off to someone else, regardless of the fact that I was just informing them of the promised price as I was about to order. Then another 10-15 minutes until I could get someone else’s attention. Completely understaffed and incompetent. The margaritas and hand sanitizer they passed off as tequila immediately made my stomach churn and that never happens to me; I love shots and a strong drink but this was just horrid. It immediately made me feel like I was going to be sick so I grabbed my friend and ran to the bathroom. The bathroom was another nightmare. The attendant was rude and angry and yelled at my friend for taking two mints because apparently it was one per person and she made my friend give it back. When I went into a stall and was trying not to vomit, the attendant was banging on my door and yelling at me to get out after 4 minutes. Are we not allowed to have some privacy and dignity unless we pee quickly? And as I exited the stall she yelled at me in front of everyone in the bathroom and made me feel ashamed of how long I took. From there we tried to go to the club downstairs (around 9:30pm) but were told we needed stamps to get in, even though we had the wristbands that supposedly gave us free flow. So we went upstairs to the front check-in desk and asked them about it and one person told us we should be able to get in with the wristbands while another told us to go outside (in the freezing rain) and wait in a DIFFERENT LINE to get the stamp. So, yet ANOTHER LIE. I went outside to check the line as most of my friends were still waiting in line even though they were supposedly allowed to go to the front with this party invite. It was cold and raining outside so I only stayed outside for a little bit to keep my friends company and apologize that they had been waiting for over 45 minutes to get in. I was told I could come back inside by showing my wristband but I tripped as I got to the bouncer and he announced to everyone (my friends, random strangers in line, etc.) that I was too drunk and he couldn’t let me back inside. Even after I explained that I had tripped on the sidewalk and offered to do a sobriety test and said that I was one of the party hosts, he still wouldn’t budge. “Come back in 20 minutes when you’re not such a mess” he told me. How beyond rude and embarrassing. I was appalled. But I went back in the line to keep my friends company. After 15 minutes, I went back up and he said “You must still be trashed if you can’t tell the time. It hasn’t been 20 minutes yet.” It took my 3 friends that were already inside to make him feel
