Thought it was odd there was no red sauce pasta option on the menu. We asked for it anyway and they were more than happy to make it for us. Mushroom pizza was amazing, olives as a starter was fun. Cute place too!
Great place for a date night. Cute outdoor dining space and an amazing menu. Order whatever tickles your fancy. You can't go wrong here! Beyond a very long wait to be seated our experience there was amazing.
I hate to slam them with a 3, but in my previous review from years ago, I said it was "really a 3.75" that I was round up to a 4. Well, this time it's a 3.5 that I am rounding down to a 3 to make the averages work. (Sorry guys.) We ate here on a nice night and it was busy. Too busy, perhaps, and there were a number of lapses in service that brought my rating down. Details below, but the summary is: wonderful outside dining with tasty food, inconsistent/inattentive service, and a pretty high price. Coppa sits on a corner and has extensive outdoor service if the weather is good. (It's *tiny* on the inside, so very difficult to get a table if it's raining.) It's in a nice neighborhood of Boston and it tries and mostly succeeds at being a fine neighborhood eatery. But. We ordered drinks. They took a while. When mine came, it had a bitterness of using too much of the rind of the fruit. It happens. Then we waited. Finally our orders were taken - all pasta dishes for entrees. Appetizers arrived - they were yummy. Then we waited. At last, one of the entrees arrived. Figuring the others would soon come - they were all pastas after all - the person waited. After 5 minutes, we told them to eat before it got cold. After 5 minutes, a waiter came to check on us and asked if there was anything we needed. The response, "Um... our food?" A little while later, another of the pasta dishes arrived. Where's the other one? You guessed it - we waited. There were some other flaws in the service - including a terminally empty water carafe. We decided we would not wait for dessert.
Boston is not known for its food scene, so I wouldn't necessarily say there are many fantastic restaurants. However, Coppa would have to be one of the exceptional ones for me. It's a neighborhood hidden gem tucked away in the South End. It's not a formal spot, but it's great for a cozy date night and a small girlfriends catch up. I ordered the Crudo, Arancini, and a pasta dish that I can't seem to find on the menu anymore. It was absolutely incredible. I still crave my bowl of pasta, it was very tasty, especially with the toasted butter breadcrumbs on top. I would definitely recommend it! They don't always have reservations, which is an indication of how highly sought out it is!
We are here our first night in Boston and it really made the whole experience feel so authentic to us. The restaurant is tucked in a really cozy corner on the street, the lights are dimmed inside, and the place is small which made it all feel very comfy. We sat at the bar because they were really packed (make a reservation?), but that was fun because we got to talk to the bartender. We ordered the rigatoni and a margarita pizza. I would say the rigatoni was 10/10 and some of the best pasta I have ever had. The pizza was more of a flat crust and a little bland in my opinion, but I prefer a brick-overn-style pizza so I’m not sure how much weight my opinion holds. Overall the experience was so lovely.
Nice atmosphere. Very small place. Server was friendly and responsive. The food was good, but the portions were small. I wasn't super impressed with the food -- it was good, but I was expecting a bit better. I've had better Italian food elsewhere.
Not the place for a large group, but a cozy neighborhood spot (good for a date night). The food was well balanced and perfectly seasoned. Highly recommend the homemade pastas (fettuccini tartufo was excellent) and the insalata with the shaved spring vegetables was fresh and the perfect foil to some of the richer dishes.
Incredible food and atmosphere. The pizza was amazing.
Wonderful service, tasty dishes
Would recommend! Excellent food and good service.
