I've been here a few times and each time I've witnessed the bouncers antagonize and straight up assault people. Tried to brush it off since I've always come late at night and I figured maybe certain customers were being aggressive. But this is not the case. I've even seen them be aggressive with women who are not drunk for absolutely no reason. Seems pretty sexist and disturbing. I will not be coming here again.

Was having a great time at Bodega Canal on Saturday night until my friends and I were leaving. As I was walking out the front door the tall skinny bouncer snatched my phone out my hand, sprinted outside with it, and smashed it on the sidewalk - ultimately shattering the glass protective cover. The bouncer then called me a bi*** as he walked away. Less than 60 seconds later the same bouncer dragged an Asian man outside and tackled him to the ground FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON. Both incidents were completely unprovoked and I suspect the bouncer was hyped up on drugs. To see the rage and mania that this bouncer possessed was terrifying. Sadly, my story at Bodega Canal is not unique. After researching other patrons' experiences on Google, Yelp, and Open Table it appears that unprovoked bouncer and waitstaff rudeness/aggression is a common occurrence at Bodega Canal. Many of the negative comments are from minorities. Really surprised that this restaurant has not had criminal charges pressed against them for discrimination and hate crimes. ***Proceed to Bodega Canal at your own risk***

Went there before concert. 5 minute walk from the garden. It is at the end of Canal St. Excellent food and margaritas. Outside seating available but it was hot so we sat inside by window (air conditioning but windows are removed -- just like being on sidewalk but with air conditioning). Loud, dark inside, fun atmosphere. Waitstaff was nice. Single bathroom but no line when we were there. (maybe there are more bathrooms on other side of dining room, not sure?) Nobody rushed us out. We were there from 5-7 pm (we had to "ask" for the check or they would have let us sit and keep drinking :) We got 3 fajitas, 1 chip/salsa side, 1 chip guac side, and 2 pitchers of margaritas. Cost was $183.00 before tip. Would definitely go again.

The food was outstanding with tons of flavor. We will be going back

Everything was delicious and the value of the cheap date night menu was very worth the trip to the west end!

Nachos are amazing!!!Tacos de pollo!! (Chicken) , street corn as well!

Drinks were terrible. Service was ok. Food was mediocre.

Come here for Cheap Date Night on Wednesdays.

literally just never come here. Not worth it. Not a single thing is worth it.

Love the aesthetic. Tortilla chips came with two types of salsa and hummus??? The staff was nice and attentive. Kinda dark inside but super spacious. Good drinks. It’s a good place to go with friends and just eat mexican THEMED food. Tacos were good but I wouldn’t say it was authentic.
