Our service was outstanding! Her name is Alexis and it was her 1st day!!! You must ask for her and I promise you will not be disappointed!!!
We decided upon Back Deck after watching a show at Emerson Colonial Theater mostly due to proximity and upon recommendations of friends. We made a reservation for 5:00 PM on a Sunday. It was not really necessary as the restaurant was more than half empty at that hour. We decided to try the burgers as we did not want a full plate meal at that hour. The burgers were good - good size, good taste, correctly cooked. The bun was a disappointment. It was actually cold to the touch and not toasted at all. The fries, potatoes wedges, were also cold and rather hard in consistency. Overall though it was an âokâ food experience. Not noteworthy but not bad either. The beer menu is limited but has a good variety of styles. I would have liked to see more notable local beers on it such as Trillium, Treehouse, or even Harpoon. I did enjoy a nice tall pour of a wheat beer for a good price though so no real issue there. The service was surprisingly non-attentive for the dearth of guests at that hour. We waited longer than comfortable for ordering and did not see our waitress again until we signaled to her that we were ready for a check. The ambience was good. We did like Back Deck and would likely come again and give it another chance.
Simple, typical American food options but the ambiance is really nice for a casual date or just catching up with friends.
Going here was a spontaneous decision. It was a great one. We were seated immediately and the good service continued from there. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our food was very good. I had the curry meatloaf and mashed potatoes. It was delicious! Not overly curried. Just enough to know something wonderful was there. The mashed potatoes were rich and delicious. My husband's burger was cooked to his order and was excellent. He, especially, liked the steak house style French fries. Crisp on the outside. Soft inside. Portions were generous and very well priced. We will definitely go back!
Have eaten at The Back Deck many times and I have recommended it may times to friends and family. What keeps my coming back is the atmosphere and the prices are well within my budget
Nice âback deckâ theme throughout restaurant. Casual dining with good food and very good service. A little loud inside, but an enjoyable experience.
Fantastic gluten-free range on dedicated menus. Staff were friendly and we were made most welcome.
We chose the Back Deck because it was walkable to the theater. The food was yummy and the service was very good as well. My only complaint is that they seated us right next to another couple when there were several empty tables around us. Very strange.
Crowded and noisy, large crowd. Servers very good, but overwhelmed with work.
Make reservations! The Back Deck is close to theaters and the Boston Common AND the food and service are excellent
