This was a really solid food experience. I had the tacos, one veggie and chicken verde. The veggie taco was amazing, whereas the chicken verde was less to my personal liking. Our waitress was very friendly.
Visited this place on Cinco de mayo day. Got nice sitting where I could enjoy the inside as well as outdide of the restaurant. Food was delicious, although service was bad. It took long for the server to take our order and kitchen also seemed busy. Wish they improve service, because after a long wait to get the cheque - we got one of different table.
We live right around the corner and this was our first time there. We got Fish and Chips and Dolly’s Pasta. F&C was huge and perfectly fried; seasoned chips were perfectly seasoned (no kidding) and were plentiful. Dolly’s Pasta was haddock, shrimp, cheese, and great seasoning. This place has a real chef; he’s got the right touch with each dish. Alma’s is a real jewel on Union Street.
Bar service wasn’t bad, good drinks, nice staff. The food on the other hand took over an hour to come out (we just got two orders of tacos). The taco tortillas also weren’t very good, the tacos all fell apart before I could take my second bite. Ended up eating the tacos with a fork. Avoid this place if you want a quick lunch because you’ll be here for hours (had to cancel a work meeting because of the brutally slow service).
Excellent staff and drinks
I went bold and it paid off! Charred octopus taco was one of the best tacos I’ve ever had. Cucumber jalapeño margarita was refreshing as sipped, after taste was spicy in a great way. The whole area is expense but this spot is worth the money.
You can’t beat this place. We loved the food and the amazing staff. Love finding a hole in the wall place with so much character and amazing food. Gabby and Josh made our experience 100%. Thanks for being such a fun spot in our vacay.
This place is excellent! From the food to the service, everything is top notch! We were visiting from Texas and these tacos and chips and queso are better than home! Fresh ceviche was incredible as well. Come in and see Vance, you won't be disappointed!!
