I had burgers twice and the cubano sandwich once and was very impressed with the food quality and service. I'll go back when I'm in Boston
Excellent location, friendly staff, indoor decor is on point. There is outdoor seating on a raised patio so your above street level. Full bar with wide beer selection. Appetizers and sides were perfect and full of flavor. Burger looked fantastic and was cooked to order.
Both my wife and I got the burger - which was very good. My wife chose the Mac and cheese as her side and she loved it ( I got the sea salt fries that were very good). Service was very good. Prices were average for a Boston restaurant. We would go back again
Fairly good place, the waitress was funny and had good banter. The experience was enjoyable, but I think the food is a bit overpriced for the quality. My boyfriend did not enjoy the stir fry dish he got, so stick to burgers if you come here. The rest of the group got burgers and we liked them, and appreciated the gluten free options they had.
Went in to have dinner on Thursday night.The restaurant was empty.There was not a person at the bar.I sat at the bar.A girl came over put a menu in front of me and walked away.I sat there for 10 minutes and not one of the ten employees working came over.The manager was even there.Got up and walked out and no one said a word.Now thats customer service at its BEST.Isee why Tavern In The Square is so BUSY.
The bartenders are busy, but heroes. Busy playoff night and they juggled a ton of customers, managed a hectic bar and just did an outstanding job of making sure everyone was taken care of. Alex is an absolute rockstar.Impressed overall - this team is excellent.
If you're planning to head here to watch a game that's happening at TD, I'd look around for another spot. They haven't figured out how to put the game audio on the speakers, and for a sports bar across the street from TD that's pretty wild, no one wants to listen to Pandora radio instead of the TD crowd... Server was great, food was decent, but won't be heading here for another Celtics game again, sound is too important.
We went there because the place across the street had a two hour wait and we were starving. We waited 20 min to have somebody take our order. Then, we waited AN HOUR for the food to come. I ordered steak tips. The steak tips were good, but they gave me like 6 tiny pieces. The mash potatoes had no flavor. The biscuit was like 10 days old. The green beans were OK.Probably won’t go again.
food was decently good, nothing too crazy. couldn’t accommodate our reservation when not everyone was there which was kinda silly but we sat anyway.i just wanted to highlight our waitress, Bailey. some people are just so naturally friendly & you could tell it comes easy to her. really enjoyed her service! she felt like a friend :)
I was a part of a party of 6. We all ordered some mixed drinks, beers, and apps to start. The drinks were great and the apps came out quickly. We ordered our meals, and maybe 15 min later they started coming out. Everyone at the table was served except for me. I asked the waitress if mine was coming and she apologized, even though it wasn't her fault, and went to the kitchen. She came back and said she wasn't sure what had happened, but my meal wasn't there and they were re-making it right away. Mistakes happen, I wasn't concerned and appreciated the honestly. About 10 minutes later my meal came out. I cut into the food, took a bite, and it was stone cold. It wasn't even warm. I'm convinced these ribs were pre-cooked and they attempted to heat them up as quickly as possible since the meat was cooked, but just cold. Eventually the manager came over and apologized, saying the kitchen rushed the food out because my first meal was lost. I appreciate the effort, however the food was not edible and would've waited a few more minutes for hot food. To the manager and waitress's credit, they were very apologetic, took the food and my drinks off of our bill, and offered to get me anything I wanted from the kitchen. At this point I was too aggravated to eat, and my whole party was already done with their meal. Again, I appreciate the service and offer for another meal, but it was far too late and I couldn't sit there and start to eat a new dish with 5 other people who already finished. The quality of the food did not come close to matching the price on the menu.
