I love Somas. We usually sit at the bar and it’s fun. I have never had a bad meal and have had their pizza several times. We had a large Marguerite pizza a few weeks ago. It was burnt around the crust. There was little cheese and sauce was not good. I had octopus as a starter - we waited almost 30 minutes for it. Everything came together. The wait didn’t bother me that much. But the pizza was awful. Very disappointing.
Went here with my wife and parents, and everyone enjoyed their meals except that I ordered the pork loin cooked medium, and it came out rather rare. We had some good cocktails though, I'd give it another a wack to try the pizza.
Service was great. Nice atmosphere. Was in the mood for a burger, The Soma burger was great, fresh and cooked perfectly with great caramelized onions. French fries were really crispy! Tuna tartare app was delicious with a nice lemon aioli.
Called ahead for a reservation on a Saturday, and we got a great table for the two of us. We were each going to order an appetizer and a caesar salad, but the server recommended we split a salad, and she proved to be spot on. 1/2 was still quite large! The grilled octopus was very tender, and the fish tacos were delicious. Definitely returning!
Food was great. The restaurant/ ambiance was great until I left and the restaurant called me trying to claim I didn’t pay which has never happened to me guess they figured it out but that was a real vibe killer.
The waiters were very friendly and helping on the spot, much appreciated. Definitely received Five star service.
I can only give it a 3 star rating for this past visit. We would have liked to have sat some place other than the tables just inside the door but since we didn't have a reservation, was told only place we could sit. Considering the early time for dinner on a Wednesday and amount of empty tables, really? We both ordered one of the drink specials, Blackberry Mojito, very good. As for dinners, I had the Chicken Pasta "Picatta Style" and my wife had the Salmon. The Salmon, presentation and flavors were on point. As for the Pasta dish, very disappointing. The chicken was a little tough and pasta a little over cooked. The "Picatta" sauce was a complete disappointment. Dull and boring, if not for the lemon garnish I squeezed on it, almost no lemon flavor. Not enough Capers and just overall bland, like a thickened oil sauce. We do enjoy dining here because of the atmosphere and the acoustics. Not being a fan of loud places, I love the sound absorbing acoustical ceiling.
Nice atmosphere, yummy food and delicious drinks. Celebrated our 2 year anniversary there, shared a large sheep pizza and I'm still drooling over it.
We had a great meal there before heading to a show at the Cabot. Diverse menu and a fantastic cocktail list (my cucumber Cosmo was AMAZING).
One of my favorite restaurants in Beverly. Actually, one of my favorite in the North Shore. Love the food and atmosphere. Amazing staff too. A+
