Have dined here 3 times in the last 3 months. First time,my husband and I great! He got the sirloin,I got the prime rib ,rare. He loved his;mine was very fatty. Second time brought my daughter. She got a chicken dish; just not done in a steak house. It was not good. My prime rib was perfect and so was my husband's sirloin. Third time, we brought friends from Connecticut, my daughter, her husband and daughter. The guys all ordered the sirloin and they were all different sizes . I ordered 20 oz. Prime rib and it was smaller than it should have been. We want to support this business but it's just not consistent. I've lived in Beverly since 1963 and I've seen how great this restaurant once was.
Our first time going to the depot we were looking for somewhere special for my birthday. My partner called ahead and told the hostess on the phone that it was my birthday and told her he wanted to make it special. she said absolutely, let me make a note. Once we arrived the same hostess took our name etc we sat and down and had a lovely meal. At the end the bill arrived. My partner stated he was really unhappy that nobody had bothered to remember it was my birthday. It was especially annoying when we overheard the waitress behind us asking tables that sat down "Is anyone celebrating a birthday tonight?". Just a little thing but its the reason why we picked coming here instead of our other favorites.
Last minute date night...1st time there. Gary was able to accommodate a reasonable time for the 2 of us, which is always difficult on a Sat night. Service was fantastic from the moment we sat down...drink orders taken promptly to start (which is always a good thing)...felt like there was about 3 staff members always checking in on us, but not at all intrusive.Great menu...you will defintely find something for anyone, but the steaks are the star of the show! Wife had 10oz filet, cooked to perfection. I had a combo baked stuffed shrimp and 6oz sirloin...both were incredible. Everything (including the plate) were hot and the veggies were fresh and crisp...cooked fresh vs sitting around.Salad bar is a bonus!!Very unique atmosphere and architecture given the fact that it is an old train depot. Dining area is wide open with high ceilings, so there is some noise, but very vibrant and lively...not stuffy.New to the area, so look forward to going back!

I took my daughter there last night. It was not busy. The waiter never came to us. He went by 5 or 6 times. After 15 min. A waitress came to us and asked if our waiter was getting our drinks. Of course we said no. She got our drinks and took our orders. We were never checked on during appetizers or our meal. We got the wrong meals. I stopped the waiter and told him. He looked at my dinner and saw mushrooms and said you have the sirloin because there are mushrooms on it. I started to tell him this was not a sirloin but a filet. As I was speaking to him, he walked away. I tipped well but it will be a long time before I return.
Excellent meal fair prices for steaks! Our party of 5 really enjoyed the fresh salad bar and our steak dinners!
My friend tried to make a reservation for her birthday. People were coming from out of town. It was a reservation for 8 at prime time on a Saturday. They told her she was fine, but it could be 15 minutes either way within her chosen time. Then the GM called the day before and said that they cannot accommodate our group. When she explained, they basically said “so sorry so sad, but you won’t be dining with us.” This is a lack of professionalism the likes of which I have not experienced in a long time. Perhaps the restaurant is secure enough in their bottom line that they don’t care about the way they are perceived. There isn’t a great variety in the north shore, and people will go regardless. But we will not.
They were very accommodating for our party of about 20 for a celebration of life meal for my brother. Great food and service! I have been going there for many years and will continue to. Thanks
Food and atmosphere was great. Waitresses were rude and abrupt.
We (8 family members) went to celebrate a very special birthday for our son/brother/uncle. It had been a favorite place of ours for years, but we hadn't been for awhile due to Covid and a serious illness.Beverly Depot did not disappoint! Everything was wonderful; the room is warm, inviting, and our waitress was great. All 8 of us ordered steak and it was delicious! No complaints...just good memories of a very special night.
