Best meal we've had on our trip. Bill ordered the scallops and I had the lobster roll and clam chowder. The scallops were large, lightly battered, and fried perfectly. The clam chowder had few potatoes and a lot of clams. The lobster roll was the best, overflowing with chunks of juicy lobster. We've tried to find the same quality of food on the way to Bar Harbor to no avail. In fact, we are taking a detour on the way back to Boston to eat here again. Parking was no problem.
This place is a favorite we recommend to out-of-town friends. Often crowded, but worth it - even if you have to wait.Great tasting clam chowder and fried clam platter is delicious.The Lobster roll has no filler! It’s packed and incredible.Large portions too.

The only reason this place doesn’t rate a 5 is the fact that it’s not fancy schmantzy. Since I can’t base a place’s value on whether or not they have cloth tablecloths, five stars. The service and seafood was excellent. No cloth tablecloths, so… whatever. Your not paying for location and there was a nice friendly crowd there. We had lobster and baked seafood pie (which I could get addicted to… fresh! Bay scallops!). Great slaw and perfect garlic potatoes. I had not had simple warm beets that way in decades and they were lovely. Generally, I think American small breweries beat me over the head with their IPAs but Beverly has one from a local Channel Marker brewery that makes a superlative one, and Anchor carries it. If I ever get back this way I’ll come back to Anchor. I’ll never forget it.
Fantastic food! Great specials menu. Outdoor seating is Totally protected from the elements and climate controlled. Wicked good Irish drinks(ask for the heavy handed menu) Always busy, head there early for best arraignments!! Cheers!
$13.99 for seafood casserole with haddock shrimp bay scallops and lobster! Great dive bar. Almost don't want to review it and let out the secret about how great this place is. Where it's already packed with locals. Lol
I am a fan but having grown up in the area I may be a little bias. They have good food for a moderate price mixed with stiff drinks. It may not be your family with small kids kind of atmosphere but it is fine for me. They also have a pretty solid breakfast on the weekends.
Got take-out last week, 2 orders of steak tips. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw only 3 tips in each order. They already increased their price by $5.00 which I know is due to the high cost of meat but to also give you less I thought was terrible business. So, for $40.00 we got 6 steak tips!!!!! Have been going here for a long time but won't be anymore. Don't get the tips!!
the drinks are amazing! the staff have all been there sometime ,the food sometimes takes time but always have a good meal.the prices are awesome... i love the stuffed clams
