[Sat., July 02, '22] Located at the Intersection of Rt. 27N / Ridge Rd & Rt.26E / Liberty Rd in Taylorsville (Carroll County?), MD...just South of Westminster. I have passed this local legend for YEARS and have always wanted to stop by and see what makes it so popular with Locals and Travelers/Passers-By alike. Now I know ... creamy, delicious icecream with a 'Home Town' Favourite feel to it. Old School Icecream is located in a multi-use building so it has enough parking ... though you can bet it gets busy at times. Limited wheel-chair accessible parking, but NO ramp to get up to the service window (so I just loudly spoke my order to the nice young lady, who brought it out to me). There are several tables (not covered) and a sign says 'No Public Bathrooms' -- I didn't ask if that included Customers. Check out their Facebook Page for Directions, Hours of Operations, and Menu. I believe it is Seasonal, so call to make sure its open ... but DEFINITELY make and take the time to Treat for Family & Friends at this hot spot where Locals gather to enjoy great icrecream and great company and conversation -- enjoy this fine destination outing with your Neighbors. I had the Peanutbutter-Chocolate Shake -- it was SO THICK that the straw collapsed...just how I like it. A worthwhile & tasty experience at a reasonable price for a reasonable portion size. Not bad, but just a soft serve machine with flavors automatically added in. I recommend going with a float or a sundae. The portions are huge though.
Purchased two egg custard snowballs tonight that were terrible. I ordered extra marshmallow and well look at the pic. Also there was barely any eggcustard flavoring added. Usually these are great. They typically make a good snowball. Maybe the snowball chef was new and needs some training...

Lots of fun. Bathrooms and tables, etc. are clean. I liked the positive affirmations signs in the bathroom and around the counter area.Staff are friendly and helpful. Love the computerized score boards. it makes it so easy to keep score.Lunch was delicious. We had French fries, hot dogs (from wagners), generous chicken salad sandwich on sourdough toast with fresh lettuce, home grown tomato slices, lots of sliced dill pickles, and Pepsi products to drink. Or you can get ice water. All for a reasonable price with the free bowling games for kids. You have to rent shoes if you don't have your own. The rented shoes were brand new looking. There's an ice cream machine with packaged good humor type ice cream bars too, and of course, several arcade games. I said no to those, but might let them have some quarters next time as an incentive to bowl nice together. We will go again before the end of summer.
Poor customer service with small minded people behind counter. Ice cream sold is just grocery store brand scooped for you.
Mmm, Flavorburst soft serve ice cream (that's a vanilla soft serve ice cream with a thick flavor syrup of many varieties swirled through it). Hopefully next summer they'll get the peach syrup in, but I have raspberry and strawberry for the rest of the summer. It's dangerously close to home and on the way to Local Homestead Products Farmers Market. Guess I better get exercising more.
