We were a party of 4. Three of the meals the portions were ok. I got soft shell crab meal. Supposedly they were whales. They were not. One of the soft crabs was busted up and in reality i got one soft shell. Waiter told manager, his response was ole well . Never came and talked to us. Disappointed!!

Incredible ribs and great service!! Today was my 2nd time at Maryland Mallet (my boyfriend is from the area and introduced me to MM) and it was just as good as the first! I love ribs, and Maryland Mallet's ribs are amazingly tender and flavorful (literally falls off the bone as you separate them). The highlight of our experience was our server Goldie, who was super friendly, attentive, and overall delightful!! Our ribs came out quickly, he gave us drink refills and brought to-go containers unprompted, and told us the best times to come for steamed crabs, which we plan to do in the near future! The ribs are great, and (Goldie's) service is impeccable--we can't wait to come back for some crabs, and definitely more ribs!

We've been going here for years and the food has always been great. Lately, every time we've stopped by, we've been turned away. We stopped in at 8:30, there were empty tables and the waitress said they closed the kitchen. They were open until 11 and plenty of people eating food that looked like it had just come out. Okay... stopped in again a week later, this time with our family. Turned away again. Not enough seating despite the empty dining room. Stopped in again 2 days ago, and turned away again. There were about 5 employees standing outside taking a break and there were at least 5 empty tables that I could see, and they didn't have room for us.We've always had a great experience here before. But the last 2 months make me never want to try again.

[Sat., July 02, '22] The Maryland Mallet Restaurant (upstairs) & Smokehouse Pub (downstairs) is located along the rolling farmland on Rt. 97 N (Carroll County?) outside of Westminster, MD. I went today with a group of 18, and they were easily able to accommodate us on short notice. Plenty of parking, on a hill, including limited wheel-chair accessible spaces (and a wheelchair ramp if needed) -- leads into a very spacious main dining room. I'm not a seafood fan, but many in our group ordered the Chicken Chesapeake meal and Crab Dip appetizer. I asked if it had mini shells (Yuck!) and they said no (a positive surprise). I enjoyed the Chicken Tenders Platter, a value at $12.99. 'Tenders'??? Tenders are supposed to be dinky slivers...these were more like 1/2 of an entire chicken breast EACH! What a nice surprise to finally get more than you expect...Terrific! Very warm & juicy, I think you have to be a hungry Maine or Oregon Lumberjack to finish it off (Thanks for not putting Old Bay on the fries). I saw other table guests were enjoying picking crabs -- which I think must be a specialty. Nice to also see families, young couples, and elderly couples having a good time eating and conversing. You get the idea that Locals must really like this (and compared to where I live in Montgomery County, this was well-priced for the ample serving size and tasty morsels -- I enjoyed it, and now have a delicious dinner left over, too! :-) ) Check out their Website for Hours of Operation, Directions, and Menu. I'd play it safe and call to make Reservations. This is a great oasis in the middle if farmland, for Family, Friends, Neighbors, and Co-Workers/Team Mates to gather. Not so far from McDaniel College if you college students want to get off campus. Not too far from Frederick (Military members stationed nearby) County nor Baltimore County. If you are out there, drop by and enjoy a fine meal. Please don't forget to Tip your Waitstaff well, they do work hard for you.

My daughter coordinated a large family luncheon at this fabulous restaurant. None of us had been there before, but we were in for a wonderful surprise. Our waiter, Goldie, was so kind, helpful, and friendly. We had 2 family members in wheelchairs, and the staff and management were so welcoming, especially to my almost 104 year old father, who received VIP treatment for being a World War II veteran and hero. The food was absolutely delicious. We had jumbo crabs, crab and shrimp mac and cheese, bacon-wrapped scallops, tacos, onion rings, brussel sprouts, crabcakes, softshell crab sandwich, wings, crab dip, and lemon bars, along with orange and watermelon crushes and refreshing beer. Goldie and his manager posed for photos with my dad, and everyone was so hospitable. There were 3 fathers in the mix, and they enjoyed their culinary experience, as well as the rest of us. We can't wait to return to this wonderful find located in a serene, rural environment. We will ask for Goldie to be our waiter again, when we make reservations. He had so much personality and really made all of us feel so special. Thank you Maryland Mallet for a perfect family dining experience!!

First visit, we ordered take out on a beautiful afternoon to eat at a nearby park. Told 20 min, we waited another 25 when we got there. My crab melt was cold and the chips that came w it were gross. I'd rather have had the fries, which were actually really good. No napkins or utensils added made it impossible to eat 1/2 the food we ordered until we got home & reheated it. Overall it was overpriced & underwhelming for what we got, I doubt we'll be back.

Service was good and efficient. Was busy but they still had our reserved and ready to go when we got there. I got the crab dip, crab melt and chocolate peanut butter cake. Everything was good. I decided to save half of my crab melt meal for dinner another day.

We ordered smokehouse burgers, they were deliscious and cooked to perfection. The service was excellent although the wait was a bit long. Would highly recommend this establishment for dining and entertainment. The Mallet attracts a genial and gregarious clientele.

We went to this restaurant on May 8, 2022 (Mother's day) and arrived at 4:20 pm. We had a 4:30 pm reservation. Not only was our table NOT ready at 4:30 pm, we had to wait an additional 30 minutes (40 minutes total) to be seated. I knew something was wrong when we were handed a device and told to come to the front when it flashed. The manager must have seen my face (I did not verbally complain) and came over at 4:45 pm to say they were crowded. I told him I was leaving at 5 pm if we were not seated before then. A RESERVATION means you reserve a table and it is ready for the customer at the designated time-period-no excuses. Three walk-in groups were seated before us while we waited, so the restaurant's "reservation" was worthless. They wasted 40 minutes of my time. We were finally led back to our table at 4:58 pm. and had to wait standing a few minutes for the booth to be cleared and swept. I ordered a bowl of cream of crab soup. The "bowl" was tiny, the size of a small cup. There were no crab pieces in the soup-NONE. I ordered the Filet & Cake entree with a medium cooking specification for the filet. The filet arrived more than well done, overcooked with burnt edges. The Cake was very small. The baked potato was fine; the mac & cheese portion was in a small cup-way too small for the prices the restaurant charged. Overall, it was one of the worst Mother's Day dinners of my life. I will NOT be going back to this restaurant!!!
