We were in the area again, and tried to get into Rocksalt for lunch. With an hour wait; we went to a Johansson's, an old favorite. Tables were distanced, cleaned and people wore masks...all good there. We shared a burrata appetized; a nice chunk of cheese surrounded by marinara with basil, in a small cast iron pan served with oven cooked flat bread...YUM YUM! I had chicken quesadilla's; nicely filled with tender meat and lots of cheese; good sized serving. My husband got a Reuben with a side of fresh steamed broccoli. Everything was very very good; and nice and hot! The waitress seemed a but harried but was fine. I keep wanting to try another establishment when we are in the area, but keep coming here, with no regrets.
great food, seated us even when we were late coming in from a funeral event. very accommodating. owner takes his restaurant business seriously. have not ever been disappointed by either of his restaurants. help support local buisness, vist this place and o lourdans
We love to sit at Johansson's outdoor dining they set up when it is warmer. Can't wait again until spring. At the end of the week, they set up a beer garden and make the best woodfired pizza ever! You can get their pizza all winter in the restaurant.
Dinner was not good. Food was cold and didn't appear fresh. Salads were good. Steak was completely cold and dry. Potato luke warm, wouldn't melt butter. I would not go back. Service ok, not very attentive, was only table.
This was very disappointing! I do not recommend eating here. I ordered the rockfish with Jumbo lump crab meat. There were a few small pieces of crabmeat on top of the fish. The rockfish was dried out and very fishy tasting. My Caesar salad included brown and wilted lettuce. The broccoli and baked potato tasted spoiled. The entire meal was very overpriced and the presentation was very poor.
I ate here recently with my wife for a date night and in general the food was good, but in spite of saying vegetarian friendly, there was either a pizza or a vegetarian rice bowl as the entree option. It was so unappealing that my wife sent it back and got a pizza instead. In their defense, the manager did come to our table and asked us about possible additions to their menu, and she asked my wife to wrote down some ideas. It sounds like they are at least open to changes, but as the menu stands we will not be back. The prices were too high for what we had and there are places with far more variety to go to for now. I would also recommend calling to check on the menu, because the web site, google, and trip advisor all have the wrong menus and it doesn't sound like they are rushing to have someone fix all of those.
Everyone loves this place. It is pretty, modern in an historic building on an historic Mainstreet, with wonderful food, friendly wait staff, and good organization. You cannot go wrong!
Had heard they renovated and went to check it out. Wed afternoon at around 1:30p; took my girls out for lunch before they return to college this weekend. The decor and seating area is nice. That's about the best I can say. We were starving and craving crab dip - ate it all up, then felt pretty icky. Was heavy on the mayo / cream cheese taste, sat heavy in the stomach, light on the crab and very bland - ? no Old Bay? would have thought that would be a staple with all things crab related in MD? My daughter's chicken tenders were fine. My other daughter ate 3 bites of her burger - usually a favorite - and said it was dry and overcooked, on a soggy bun - I took a bite - had to agree. I had a flat bread chicken sandwich that was greasy and also bland. There were only 2 tables including us being served at that time of day - but our waitress had disappeared, had to ask the bartender to flag her down for our bill. Just a bit frustrating to pay $50 + tip for a meal that none of us really enjoyed. I have felt happier / more satisfied after a trip to Chik Fila. Westminster has several nice locally owned restaurants ... suggest trying another one.
Went there to meet friends & we had a large party. The waitress was very grumpy & unpleasant. Really acted like we were a burden even though we were all easy going. Nice pub atmosphere. Food was good. Still had a great time despite the waitress’ sourpuss.
We went for dinner here on a friday night around 630. It was busy but we didn't have to wait for a table so that was nice. I think they have brightened it up some in the main bar area somehow. It looked nicer and wasn't as dark as I remember it being. It has been a while since I've been here. We got seated in the smaller area near the rt27 side and it is cute and cozy. Little fireplace in the back which was nice. We ordered a cocktail and a beer and they were both up to par. I ordered the chicken marsala. It had good flavor but the portion of chicken was too small. Could hardly see it on the plate under the sauce and mushrooms. However, it was very tasty and I enjoyed it. The waitress was nice but could tell she was busy so she rushed a bit to and from the table. I was still asking for something additional and she walked away too quickly to hear me. Wasn't a huge deal, we knew she was a little flustered, and she was still nice enough. All in all we had a good dinner experience. Nothing super exciting to rave about but not bad that we wouldn't go back. We would go again sometime in the future, just not running back.
