Wow! This place is super nice, clean and definitely orange chicken was delicious.
Not here since right after their move to Smallwood (years!) We went with friends (They Love it !) Waiter was fast, polite, competent and friendly! Our food came fairly quickly. Steamed dumplings were large, but "doughy". Entrees were very good and as ordered. Alcohol was very expensive...even the beer1 Food prices were "High Normal". After years of absence, we will return as we find it one of the best "sit-down" Chinese in town (and can afford the prices. We love other Chinese locations, but they are almost all carry-out only.
Food was fresh and well seasoned. Some items were listed as spicy and turned out to be mild at best. Staff was not very friendly or helpful with menu as this was our first and only visit.
I absolutely love going here, the quality of the food is consistent and the staff is always attentive and nice. Crystal at the bar is WONDERFUL!!
Prices are a bit high and the food was alright if not a bit bland. If you’re a lover of Chinese food maybe try some place else for the price you’d pay here.
This was my first time at the restaurant It was beautiful and very clean. Centrally located off Smallwood Drive. I was immediately greeted and my order for take out was taken. When I received my order, I had to request additional duck sauce. Only 2 packs given per order. I ordered szechuan chicken and beef/broccoli lunch special. The chicken tasted like rubber, the broccoli was overcooked. I was hoping the food tasted as great as the restaurant's appearance. Not so. I will not be back. So sad. I was hoping for more!!!.
This is one of the better sit down restaurant in the area, and the best Chinese restaurant by far, very clean, quick service, not typically loud or crowded. Menu caters to slightly spicy, American Chinese cooking. You cant really go wrong on the menu. They serve American staples if your going with a picky eater, but have not personally tried.
Szechuan Garden food was once my favorite place for Chinese food beginning back when it was a small family restaurant along Highway 301. But over time, and especially the past few years, it seems to have gone down the road that many long-term restaurants go and is no longer what it once was. Each time that I've bought food from there I've come away disappointed. Although the amount seems to be the same, the flavor, attention and taste I once enjoyed is no longer there. If I"m very hungry I can satisfy that need but inevitably I come away feeling let down. The latest purchases - Shrimp with Broccoli and Chicken fried rice are examples. The shrimp appeared to have been cleaned hastily as some still had the unappetizing vein hanging from the tail. Fried rice, once a favorite also, no longer contains carrots and peas as it once did. Sure, there was an abundance of chicken and onions and fried in some sort of spice but it was bland, boring and as I said, I expected a little more such as far as the usual vegetables you find in fried rice. So, it seems I have to find a new place to satisfy my desire for quality Chinese food in Waldorf.
Awesome service, quick seating and great food at good prices. The bottles of beer could have been colder but overall, it was a spectacular experience!
This was one of the worst dining experiences I have had and I say that with sadness because Szechuan has been a family favorite for many years. The server came to the table with a mouthful of excuses about how the kitchen was backed up due to take out orders. That was our sign to leave. We ordered two dishes of crispy noodles to hold us over and the server brought out what amounted to crumbs - bits and pieces of noodles. The food that came out was lukewarm in taste and temperature. The rice was crunchy; and two of the four dishes we ordered didn’t come out until way after we were basically done. Very disappointing all around and doubtful that I will ever go back. Two stars and one was for nostalgia’s sake.
