There food used to be really good but now they are lazy and don't even season the food. I won't order from. Them anymore
The gentleman taking orders was rude and didn't know the prices of items I wanted to order. The sun's glare prevented me from reading the menu. When I asked him questions his attitude was uncalled for. I like most of their menu. But I HATE the chicken! What are they using to fry their chicken!? I'm a seasoned cook. Their chicken gets hard after it's cooked! I've NEVER seen chicken get hard after it's fried....it gets soft.
I get food from this location every few months. The staff are always nice and efficient. The prices are still reasonable and you get a nice amount of food. Despite always being busy, it doesn't take the staff too long to prepare all of the orders.
Prices are high considering the quantity you receive. The food is good. But would like to have a larger amount to correspond to the price being paid for it
What a lovely place. A quiet stong guy named Leo that works there was the one that made our visit a lovely experience and made us want to place a review. The other one could learn some patience and customer service however Leo was everything we'd hope to experience when spending our money in an establishment. Thank you
Food is done pretty quickly, my boyfriend loves this place, I just wish their parking lot was bigger or just spaced differently? Idk
Some of you old-time Baltimoreans may remember a mom-and-pop restaurant in Northwest Baltimore called The Roost, but which was popularly and affectionately known as Lake Trout. The menu was strictly carry out soul food, and the offerings were spectacularly delicious. I mention this because HipHop Fish & Chicken's seasonings are reminiscent of those which were used at that now closed carryout. I have only eaten the fish and chicken wings at HipHop, and they are well prepared, so I will reserve a fifth star until I try other items on the menu. I expect they will be delicious, as well.
Placed an order for a 20 piece shrimp dinner that comes with fries. I asked not to put bread in my dinner box. After leaving the restaurant I opened my box. The shrimp and bread were in the box without any fries. The shrimps were very dry. I’ve ordered this shrimp dinner many times over the years and each time I ask them not to put bread in the box, because I NEVER eat it, with one exception they ALWAYS put bread in my both regardless.
The associate team was nice enough, but the food was TERRIBLE! I had a taste for chicken livers and gizzards that day. They were fried too hard and they were salty. After reading info on their website, I was disappointed to find that what I thought was a dash of Adobo turned out to be sugar. The taste for livers & gizzards has left me for life after this experience. Also, the half & half was sickening-sweet. I used to go to Lexington Market to get them, except the rats took over my fave dessert case. Thought that Hip Hop could take its place; boy, was I EVER wrong!!!
Ideal spot for buying fried Chicken and fish in large quantities for parties or get-togethers without the fried smell in your house? crispy and not too heavily breaded which I like
