Instead of updating menu prices to reflect rising costs, the owner has decided to sneakily add an 8.30% Consumer Price Index surcharge to the final bill (pre-tax, meaning the sales tax charged is also too high). This surcharge is not listed or spoken about at all before the final check arrives. There is nothing about it on the menu or printed literature, nor does the wait staff inform patrons when ordering. This is false advertising, which is illegal. We expected to pay the prices listed on the menu for our food and beverages but instead paid an extra 8% beyond the listed prices. Perhaps we would have decided to stay at the restaurant and pay the surcharge if we had been informed, but instead, we were deceived into paying higher prices than what we thought we were agreeing to. This blatant disregard for customers is appalling. Spending the money to reprint menus with correct prices is an easy and effective fix to the problem.

Very friendly friendly, and a great environment to watch a game also. Food was good, service was friendly. The only reason I don't give five stars is that they were way understaffed and servers did their best, but management is certainly add a few more servers and bartenders to give The full experience. That said, I will certainly be back

I could not recommend this place. Rather than changing their prices to reflect rising food costs. They've decided to tack on an 8.5% food surcharge to your bill at the end of the meal.Would I have been likely to pay the higher price that was listed on the menu? Probably, but because of this deceptive practice I wouldn't return until then.Food was generally okay, standard Restaurant Depot purchased items that were enhanced with sauces or toppings.I would avoid this place until they are more forthcoming with the charges before I walk inside, such as updating the prices on their website menu that would cost $0 or making a QR code menu that is easy to adjust.

Haven't been to CVP for years. It's been an institution for underage drinking and college kids in Towson for as long as I can remember. So it was interesting to come back in my middle years to see what's keeping the place going. We ventured upstairs and had a seat at the outside bar. The place is extremely spacious though it wasn't that crowded for a weekend. We had drinks and nachos, and both were very good. The onion soup on the other hand was extremely salty, so I would pass on that next time. The bartender was friendly, conversational, and checked on our table often. With the ever-increasing competition in Towson as it grows and grows into a small metropolitan area, CVP should remain on the radar as a solid choice in one's dining options.

This place is a gem! We lived in Towson for 7 or 8 years before going into the CVP, but it's now one of our favorite local places: the service is prompt and family-friendly, and the burgers are some of the tastiest we've had in Baltimore; I especially like the Triple B Burger. The nachos are huge -- easily enough for 4 or more people to share as an appetizer. We usually have no trouble to find metered street parking directly outside. Thanks, CVP!

Always a great spot to get a few drinks from and have a good time with solid food. It is a good definition of what a pub is to me. Good apps and some not too heavy dinner selections (unless you get a salad... THEY are HUGE!) Good atmosphere and from what I can tell pretty diverse. The bartenders there are always hospitable and welcoming. Whenever I'm on that side of town and I want a drink... this spot is in my top selections.

service could be better. Was seated and no one came and spoke to us for 35 minutes… plenty of open seating so it’s not like they were packed. We had to find someone to take our order and request water. Food was good.

We have had several 25+ person events recently and everything was top notch. The service, food and drink were perfect. The communication was terrific and they were very helpful in selecting an appropriate menu.

Check your bill. They add price index and increased my bill 7.5%. Then once I realized they removed it. Also it was happy hour and they charged me the regular price for Guinness. Said it's not on special but the menu said 18 beers on tap are on special. They only had 16 on tap so how is Guinness not on special. It was corrected but check your bill. The Price Index Should Be Posted somewhere on menu or on the chalk board.

Came there last night with my sister for a girls night out. The staff was very friendly and attentive! The food was delicious as always. I do want to commend one employee in particular Rochelle, I believe she was a manager there, she was very friendly and professional. I can see she was really busting her butt to help out her staff and was really hands on! I love to see a manager really care not only about her staff but the guest. I will 100% be returning and recommending this place to all my friends and family.
