First, the beer is fine, a good selection of both popular (the ubiquitous American-style India Pale Ales) and not. The menu is small as this really is primarily a pub. We came for the special brat and German potato salad night. The brat was fine but it comes a barbeque sauce rather than mustard. The potato salad was not fine, it did not have the sweet-and-sour sauce it should have had, and was frankly quite bland. The pretzel was good and did come with a very good mustard (that should have also accompanied the brat); there are other topping choices. The service was abysmal. The servers came to the table twice with things we have not ordered that were probably tended for a different table. When my wife asked for mustard for her brat, it took so long to get to our table that her brat was getting cold. She also ordered a root beer and it also took far too long to show up. Basically, our server was inattentive and someone did an incompetent job of sending food to the correct table. They sell canned beer on premise, and I would certainly recommend dropping by and picking some up.

Where to begin- this place is great! Wide selection of brewed on site beer, food rotated and is always good (100% recommend the pretzels.) The staff is extremely warm and welcoming, and will go out of there way for their customers to have a good time. They’ve adapted well to COVID restrictions with a larger outdoor seating area, but you should still make a reservation because it fills up quick.
The welcome is real and authentic. No denying the beer quality and service here, top rate. Steps from the Silver Spring Metro, this is indeed a friend at hand. Sit outdoors, relax, enjoy yourself. Family, dog, and visitor friendly, ah Silver Spring at its best.
