There were a lot of flies in our seating area, but we were also by the window. It was slightly annoying towards the end of our meal. Wouldnât recommend sitting next to the windows.
They were short staffed; waited 20 min for 1st drink under bottomless mimosa; never received 2nd drink. Hair was found in my food. Chicken wasnât cooked thoroughly. Highly disappointed.
Love the swanky look and feel. The decor has a warm and inviting feel as soon as you walk in. Our waiter was quite the friendly chap although a tad forgetful. We missed out on the appetizer, but no worry it wasn't charged. Prices are steep. Caesar salad dressing tastes store bought, not in-house made with anchovies. These things matter.Tried the Seared Salmon from the Specials Menu. Salmon was only a tiny bit dry but the dressing from the cucumber salad really blended with it well.Try not to let them talk you into their Honeybee drink special unless you're a big tequila fan. It tasted just like honey and tequila. Arrived with a cute "bee" on top, which the waiter explained,"It's edible." It was. I forgot it was there and as it melted away on my lips and tongue, it made me think about an acid sticker from back in the day that I learned about in school to always stay away from.Bathrooms needed some love. If the restroom isn't clean -- well, never mind.
THE MATCHBOX IN SILVER SPRING MD IS WHERE TO GO ! THE STAFF ARE VERY WELCOMING AND FRIENDLY. OUR SERVER CORNELIUS WAS EXCELLENT ! HIGHLY RECOMMEND SITTING IN HIS SECTION. AWESOME SERVICE ! WE WILL BE BACK NEXT WEEK !
The service was HORRIBLE. Nobody came to our table to take out order for 30 mins. It took a hour to get food. I ordered pizza and my friend order crab hash. There is no reason those 2 things took an hour. In addition we had bottomlelss mimosas where apprently they didn't have enough clean glasses to actually provide the bottomless mimosas. Please buy more glasses as people come for brunch to have bottomless mimosas..get more glasses or bring the bottles back to the tables. The experince was horrible and I will not be back.
This was a lunch to catch up with an old friend/fraternity brother. Great location. I had the shrimp & grits. It was amazing!!
Food was great and I loved the big open windows so that you could sit inside, but feel like you were outside. Unfortunately, the service was slow although it wasn't even crowded.
Great place for good food and ambience. Will surely be there again in the future.
The service was incredibly slow, which was surprising because the restaurant was half-empty. For example, we sat for approx 15 minutes before anyone even checked to see if we wanted water. I had the crab hash and expected something flavorful because it's described as crab served over "cheesy hash browns with a Cajum cream sauce." The food was surprisingly very bland. I left feeling very disappointed with my meal and the overall experience.
Good was good and being able to dine on the patio is always a plus!
