I came and got the Dibi (grilled lamb) and the meat was 90% fat. When I told them about the fat and showed it to them they did not care but just said I am sorry the meat came that way. I used to live in Senegal and was married to one. This was very bad. I do not recomend this place to anyone. No to mention they did not have the bread that comes with the Dibi.Very bad
One of the best African restaurants I've eaten at in the DMV. Senegalese cuisine plus other west African ones at their finest! I ate there two times in a two week span with two different groups of friends. They all loved it. The food is tasty. I love the lamb/goat combo!
Delicious, flavourful food!!! I love coming here when I’m in the area. You can’t leave w out some fataya, their meat filled pastries!! Fried, Crunchy, and the flavour is so yummy
The food is really tasty and they give you plenty and I can appreciate that. I just wish the joffe rice was served everyday and not just Friday’s and a little more tomato in it , the cake slice way to small but overall I give it 5 stars , wonderful customer service. This is my go to place
Food was incredible. I had the dibbi chicken with a side of plantains, and the pineapple-ginger drink. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was great being able to eat at their outdoor seats on a warm night. Check it out!
Truly authentic Senegalese cuisine! Absolutely loved it. Even though it's been 10 years since I lived in Senegal, it felt like no time had passed; it tasted just as I remember. I will visit many more times.
I recommend this place to all my friends. Food is great and unique in the area. Staff is friendly and willing to explain what is going into cooking every dish and what they would recommend.
I heard about Koite Grill from the Washington Post issue, and knew I had to try this restaurant. I drove today from Arlington to Silver Spring and met with a nice lady at the cashier that gave us the menu. Many dishes to choose from, my sister and I finally settled with Thiebou Dienne, Dibi Meat (Lamb option) with plantains, and Degue as dessert.OH MY GOOOOOODNESS!!!! Just tasting the rice brought us back to our African motherland! It felt like I took a quick trip to Senegal. The smokiness of the rice was unbelievable, the fish was succulent, the Lamb was carefully seasoned and grilled, even the fried plantains deserved praises. For Koite Grill, I don't mind driving back to Silver Spring, please Koite family keep up the good work and know that your food is highly appreciated!!!
I can in for lunch and was very excited. I love Senegalese food and was excited that there was one near me. However, It took took 30 min just to get the starters and another 15 just to get our food. Overall the food was a major disappointment. The beef was dry and mainly just fat. Additionally there were random bone shards in my dish and it was mainly rice. Basically just paid $14 for a bowel of rice. Definitely would not come back to this place or recommend it.
Two words: flavor explosion. Wow. Everything was super delicious. The chicken was awesome. The goat was perfectly seasoned. The onions bursting with flavor and a delightful char. And the staff couldn't be more friendly and accommodating to my daughter who doesn't do spicy food. A few things to know before you go. It's mostly a take our place. There's a few tables and it's counter service. If you don't like spicy, make sure you let them know up front. Finally, parking is nearly impossible. But knowing all of that, I'm excited to go back. Super good stuff.
