It was our first time ordering food here. The menu was very promising, lots of options and detailed descriptions. The food was done quickly and I had requested a mild Tandoori Vegetable. It was borderline mild. But that wasn’t the issue. It said roasted vegetables and part of my food was burned. I couldn’t recognize the broccoli because it was completely burned. Parts of the other vegetable were as well and therefore I could only eat a portion of the entire meal. Not roasted - burned beyond recognition. Won’t be returning.
Very genuine & delicious cuisine….as if we had it in India! Would love to visit again next time!
Five star service all around, didn't expect such high quality for a small restaurant out here in Silver Spring. Wonderful! I didn't have to ask or request anything, they come up and serve you, refill your water, come see how your doing, and pay attention, staff do not goof off or play around here. It is easily comparable to any top restaurant in the big cities! The prices are average at about $20 a person. But overall, I recommend coming here if your in the area or just staying at the hotel nearby.Chicken Tikka Masala: This dish had sime wonderful spice, I mean it tasted like how I wanted it too, like tikka chicken…Shrimp Vindaloo: I am assuming I remeber what its called, but its the spicy shrimp dish. It was perfectly spicy, nice and hot as I like it.Tandoori Chicken: Nice and soft chicken, good amount of tandoori flavor~Garlic Naan: Its naan and its garlic flavor. It tastes great!Tough to express Indian food, but just come eat and you won't be disappointed.
The staff and manager are the worst persons that I have ever seen in my life. You guys better give respect to the customers who visit your place, jewel of India owner should be ashamed to criticize the customer who comes to eat here. I can come to this place to eat a single dish or I pay $5 and leave, its up to the customer.DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE , WORST MANAGEMENT. STAFF WHO WORKS HERE ARE ILLITERATE THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO TREAT CUSTOMERS.LEARN HOW TO BEHAVE
Wonderful ambience, great service, delicious food.Food served here is authentic Indian and comes very close to the food in a good restaurant in India. Especially the Xacuti (शागोती) curry and the Vindaloo curry that are the delicacies of Goan (west coast of India) cuisine. Xacuti is a native Goan dish, while Vindaloo is a result of colonial fusion food that is based on the Portuguese dish carne de vinha d'alhos. For naans and breads, even though it's not a typical Indian naan, I would still recommend the Jalapeno cheese naan because it goes well with some of the curries.
Food is fantastic. Restaurant is clean and is rarely overcrowded. A good indian authentic cuisine is served here.I took a star for 2 reasons:First it is way overpriced 1 naan and a medium size meal are 20$, 2nd people who take the phone orders are always in a hurry, and rush you to order super quick.I will still go there occasionally.
Nice lunch. I typically eat Indian at some of the well known places in DC but it’s nice to have options in Silver Spring near work. The homemade naan was a great kick off and I really enjoyed the zesty tamarind as well as the cilantro dipping sauces. It was buttery & right out of the oven! They once had a nice buffet but COVID eliminated that. They have a wide range of tandoori options as well as curry’s plates. The Biriyani is well seasoned and a little spicier for you spice lovers. I wanted a milder plate so I ordered the Chicken Makhani(creamy tomato sauce). It was great over the basmati rice though I wish I had a bigger portion of rice.My small complaint was the unbalanced table but they were quick to move me to a more stable table. The owner was gracious and very engaged through out. Always a nice touch when you visit the smaller restaurants…
Went for lunch at Jewel of India in Silver Spring. Had great Lunch, Food was as I was Expecting. Staff was great following Covid-19 protocol. Emily was very good and pleasant Hostess, Making sure everyone was served well and enjoying their lunch, I will recommend to anyone!
Been to a few Indian restaurants and this one by far is my favorite. It was recommended to me by a friend and I enjoyed. I normally do take out but this time I set in and ate.
Nice ambience, good food.
