The food is incredible. So fresh and tasty, the service is amazingly friendly and the atmosphere is so cool. Also, the prices are so reasonable. We couldn't believe how expensive Vancouver is coming from the UK but at Holy Chow you get a really good sized helping for a fraction of the cost of most restaurants. We loved the black pepper chicken and even risked the hot Sechuan pieces.. Delicious. Best fried chicken ever!! Thank you Holy Chow!! ?
I might be overly angry about this because it ruined my husband's 40th birthday evening, but we ordered in from Holy Chow that Thursday night because we had covid and could not go out :( We are within their usual delivery zone but they did not have a driver available that night, but they said we could do grubhub. OK. We placed the order at 5:10, and at it was supposed to arrive at 5:52. The grubhub delivery driver arrived and was told it would be a 25 minute wait, then waited for 40 minutes, and was told it would be another 25 minutes. He understandably cancelled the pickup. I called the store, very angry, and they told me that they had several large orders and they were understaffed and then hung up on me (maybe I deserved this. I was kinda yelling, but seriously!) Another driver picked up the job and we eventually got our food at 7:15, over TWO HOURS after we ordered it, except that we did not get our food at all. We got another person's food that was one entree, not three, and I wound up having to fight through it to make dinner for my kids and my husband ordered pizza and ate a late, sad dinner. I understand being understaffed, but with the prices they charge, they should be able to pick up employees. At a bare minimum, if there is going to be a delay, you should be able to communicate that when someone calls. If someone called after me and put in large orders, then they should prepare mine FIRST and communicate that there will be a delay to THOSE customers. Also, after ALL that, they could have at least made sure they gave me the right order. Delayed orders are not just delayed orders...they are crying, hungry children, haggard moms cooking dinners at a moment's notice to get hungry kids into bed, and ruined nights. For crying out loud, at the very least, you can learn to estimate cooking time and communicate clearly. I will say, in the interest of fairness, if you do finally get their over-priced food, it's decent.
Ordered Chicken and Broccoli on a Tuesday evening about a half-hour before closing. Very bad chicken has my stomach upset for almost hour... almost think that this chicken and broccoli was sitting around in their refrigerator for a couple of days. Will not return :(
Horrible food!!!Doesn't not taste like chinese food at all.I bought a lunch special chicken broccoli and went right to my trash can the soup that comes with it make me got sick for 2 days.If you don't eat kosher just go somewhere else.I feel so bad for the comunity that have to keep eating this food because they have to eat kosher and they don't have many options around wheaton.
I'm never gonna eat there again. Not giving service to people who don't have a mask on. This is disgusting remember that they will be lifting those mandates soon and even still because of this i will never come back here
Chicken noodle soup is soo filling - so much chick & so many noodles (not just a ton of broth)!!!Yummy!
The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. No MSG or nitrates are used in any of the food and accommodations can be made for many food allergies. This is a carry-out only establishment that offers an easy-to-use on-line ordering system. Local delivery is efficient and our food always arrives piping hot. We are grateful to Holy Chow for keeping its customers safe by following COVD guildlines and enforcing local mandates.
Terrible staff- I see how they treat people who just want to order. Disgusting and inhumane. Would not support this place ever again.
I don’t usually do reviews but Holy Chow earned my time for this.The food is amazing and fresh. The staff and owners really go the distance for ensuring quality food and service and best of all, it’s big portions.Highly recommend you visiting this establishment and btw the crispy chicken with lomain is my favorite
The service is always prompt, fantastic character, super friendly staff members. Will return here again when I get here.
