I had several dishes here, and they all come out delicious. I highly recommend "Tapas mixtas" I also recommend their fried bass. Is cooked to perfection. The server Carmen is great! she's so polite and very fast in doing her job. Don't forget to order their Signature margaritas. So good on a hot day. Highly recommend this place. I'll definitely be back
Came for Sunday brunch with girlfriends. Arrived right after opening. We almost had the entire place to ourselves. The wait staff were welcoming, kind & didn't seem to mind how silly & loud we were at all. The margaritas are NOT watered down & delicious. Best ceviche I've ever had. We tried 3 apps & 4 entrees. Everyone was happy with their food. Will definitely be back.
Why no reviews for this incredible happy hour?? We recently discovered this gem from the web site advertisig what I consider one of the best happy hours in terms of food and drink in Montgomery County! The food was fantastic (if you order 3 items on the happy hour menu you get them for $15 total instead of $6 each!!!) and $2 for a bottle of Budweiser or Miller Lite! No happy hour on Saturday or Sunday, but on Wednesdays.....Happy Hour from 3pm to 10pm!!! Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 3pm-7pm. Do your taste buds and budget a favor and get to El Golfo's Happy Hour!!!
<$20 gets you 6 delicious pepusas (cheese, pork and cheese, or squash and spinach), refreshing cabbage salad, tomato sauce, a full thing of pico salsa, and a bag of chips. Love this place!
We have patronized El Golfo for many, many years. Their offerings work for the two of us: Mexican fare and Latin American fare.We have been cooking at home since Covid-19 broke out and order out occasionally. We ordered our usual favorites months ago and got delivery. The food was perfect and still steaming hot.Not so this week. For my birthday, we ordered and looked forward to our dinner from El Golfo. The carryout service was impeccable, but the food, unfortunately, was a great disappointment. Has their kitchen staff changed???The food was not hot. The Pescado Criollo was overwhelmingly seasoned with coriander and was barely edible. The large Sopa de Lima Yucateca was underfilled and was not the rich, flavorful soup that we expected. As usual, the chips are tasteless and dreadful, but we do not depend on their being very good.Restaurant food is too expensive to not be enjoyable. We probably will be saying goodbye to our staple Mexican restaurant. Very sad!

Great place for good food and drink! They offer delicious tamarind juice and fresh sweet corn tamales. They have plenty of vegan options, but are not solely vegan. The staff is always kind and quick. Fantastically authentic salsa and chips. ?
