Group of four having our first Ethiopian dining experience on a Saturday evening. Nice spring day and got a free parking spot right out front. We took one of their outdoor deck tables (not much to see other than a giant parking garage), and the water arrived instantly to give us paper menus (sorry apparently only took a picture of one side of the two) and took drink orders. He was very friendly, explained everything to us (nothing too exciting other than no utensils and eat using the bread), and checked in often to see what we needed. Drinks and food were quickly delivered (but no pressure to finish quickly). They had some local wine and bottles of Ethiopian beer. Food was beautifully presented, is more filling than you may initially expect (we had a container full of leftovers), great spices without being too heated, and a wide variety for communal sharing. We were all pleased and had a great dinner.
Food is delicious and they have a wonderful garden patio for outside seating, if you don't mind seeing a few rats scurrying around. Until they get a handle of that, I'm eating elsewhere.
20 minutes waiting for a pickup order along with a Popeyes order on DoorDash? No thanks. Their food should’ve been done by now. If it was a under 10 or 5 minutes of wait time for their food to be picked up, that would be reasonable. Plus I had to wait 4 minutes to wait for somebody to come to the register. How incompetent plus the wait time. Thank god I canceled the pickup order and moved on with the Popeyes order. I was using DoorDash by the way.
A cozy spot with a low-key atmosphere, and still conveniently located in downtown Silver Spring. The food was good and competed well with the other Ethiopian restaurants in the area that I've been to.

I really enjoy the Vegetarian Combo platter - it is my "go to" when ordering from here. I typically order take-away from Bete.Earlier this week, my family and I wanted to eat in-person at Bete. While they weren't set up to do outdoor dining, the cook/chef was very accommodating and kind, offering to set up outdoor setting just for us. We ended up ordering take-away instead (which was delicious), but I was really amazed at how kind and considerate the staff were there. I highly recommend eating at/from Bete!
Had an excellent time as well as excellent food. Chicken tibs and the assorted vegetables dish - fantastic in every way, and they aren’t skimpy with injeera like some places can be. Definitely eat here if u are in Silver Spring!
The vegetarian platter was delicious and came out very quickly. Everything was flavorful and anyone could handle the spice level
Food is always really good! Sometimes serving takes a while, but we always enjoy it.
