Been here several times. Crust is great! Middle of the pizza is always wet, almost soggy like. No flavor unfortunately. This particular time, we came on a Monday - waitress informed us that there was a special for the 14’ so we requested that because originally we told her a 10’. However, when the bill came, she charged us full price. Bummed about that. But always support our local shops.
Vegan cheese and sausage available, great crust. Brick oven means super crispy NY style pizza ready in just a few minutes. I couldn't ask for much more (except lactose free Mozzarella, but no one offers that). My only issue is they charge more for each add-on than I would expect, so a $15 pizza quickly becomes a $20+ pizza with just vegan cheese, mushrooms and olives. On the other hand, I am supporting a locally owned business who actively solicits local resident opinions on what they should offer (through Nextdoor) and has live music on Friday nights.
I've lived in the area for a few years and found it was lacking a good pizza joint. Not anymore. I'm a NY/NJ style pizza guy, and while these aren't exactly that, the pizzas, imo, are excellent and scratch that itch. Bonus points: I like my pizzas well done, I showed them a pic of what I wanted and they were happy to oblige (see pic). To say that the staff is friendly and accommodating is an understatement.
If you want an excellent specialty pizza or create your own, they've got you covered. They really care what you think. The owner also came by, interested in our our opinions. He let us also try a new item, as well as sample their crab meat pizza. Service is first rate! Highly recommended!
Favorite neighborhood restaurant. Can't get past ordering the "Ashton" everytime because we know we like it so much. The live music guitar duo was very good. As a musician, I'll be more aware of my volume in the future. Visiting across the table was nearly impossible while music was being played.(note: look for people talking while leaning towards each other)Looking forward to next time, though!
Great brick-oven pizza. Lots of toppings available. Vegan cheese available too. Almost all the beers are local. Small bit good wine selection. Indoor and covered outdoor seating available. Dog-friendly outdoor area. Staff are really nice nice too. Pizza is cheaper on Mondays. Live music on most Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturday. Trivia on most Thursday nights.
This was my first time here, went to see my friends band play, but will come back for the pizza. I got a cheese pizza, because whenever you're trying a new pizza place, that's what you should order the first time, it gives you a better idea of how it will stand up to toppings. The pizza was perfect, just the right amount of cheese and sauce, with a great brick over crust, with that slight char around the edges. Olga was my server, and she was fantastic.
Upset with myself for waiting so long to try it. Had 2 different pies to try, a simple plain cheese and a veggie. When I say it’s one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had it’s not hyperbole.I know, I know…”Oh wow! The best huh?!, have you even been to ________?” Just try it . No one ever got mad at sampling pizza.The pizza was great and the staff was just as great l, attentive , helpful, patient, super rad! I can’t wait to go back. Thanks a million Bear Brick, I’ll be seeing you guys a lot more often
I work all over the DMV and this place was across the street from my assignment today.I was hoping to give a better reviews, but I completely agree with a previous review regarding the sauce. It is quite bland and needs a lot of improvement. No salt, oregano, or garlic. Not much of a variety of meat toppings, and would've loved to have been able to add some prosciutto on my pizza.Friendly staff, & offers a very generous military discount though.
Had an early dinner here recently with my husband to celebrate after the successful conclusion to a somewhat stressful day. It turned out to be a great choice for a relaxing evening. Really good pizza, great service, and the live music was a pleasant surprise.
