Listen I woke up craving some good comfort food... They didn't disappoint at all!!! The service was great the food was absolutely delicious I got the seafood platter with cabbage and mashed potatoes and gravy and I was so happy that for once someone is close to me that actually can cook some good comfort foods. The sweet potato pie was so delicious as well!!! 10/10 would recommend!!!
We stopped here to grab a quick lunch on our way to Ocean City it was a cute restaurant very nice and clean inside we ordered the crab balls for appetizer which were amazing then we ordered crab cakes green beans and french fries the green beans were just very mushy I did not care for them but other than that my meal was great very crispy fries enjoyed it. My boyfriend got the shrimp mac and cheese and green beans he did not like the green beans as well overall it was a good experience our server was very sweet they said she was new she did a great job sorry I can't remember her name
This was my first time at The Candied Yam, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations! I have been to many Soul Food Restaurants, however, this one by far is the best...hands down! The food is absolutely superb, seasoned to perfection, the food is hot when it comes to the table, the atmosphere is very inviting, customer service is on point, very friendly, we had Calvin and he is truly a people person, he makes sure that you have an enjoyable time while at the restaurant. The prices are very reasonable, my husband and I was at the restaurant, all we could do was talk about how good the food is. If you are in the area, stop by The Candied Yam, believe me you will not be disappointed. You can thank me later.By the way, I don't do reviews, however, I had to share my experience because this place is awesome!

Best meal in Salisbury! I got the fried flounder which was cooked perfectly, crisp on the outside, fluffy inside. My coworkers had chicken and dumplings and loved it. The sides were fresh and full of flavor. The yams are a must. Even the iced tea was delicious (homemade). The restaurant was very clean too. Can’t wait to go back with family members.

I have mixed feelings about this establishment. It took a very long time for our food to come out; we were served separately, so there were some that were done eating before others got their food. My daughter ordered a burger that looked and tasted amazing, so I asked for one to go. 40mins later while I was paying for our meal I had to asked about my burger, when it finally came out it was not made the same as my daughters, the burger was a hockey puck, the bun was not buttered it was basically thrown together (I think they forgot about it). The other items we ordered like chicken, fish, shrimp, and yams were delicious when they finally made it to the table. I would consider eating here again if I don't have any plans afterwards.
Excellent quality food. The candy yams are a must have. The potato salad the ?. The fried chicken is the best. Nice and crispy but juicy inside. You get what you pay for. Nice job The Candied Yam. Let me get that discount. Doug.
