I'm vegetarian and, when I'm out of town, I've found that Asian restaurants usually have the best protein-rich entrees for me, in the form of tofu. As I've visited Salisbury every month or so over the past several years, I think I've tried every Chinese and Thai restaurant in town. Chuar is, hands down, the absolute best. Unlike almost all the other tofu entrees I've ordered at other Salisbury restaurants, which are uniformly bland, Chuar's are spicy and savory - and delicious.

I am new to the area, from outside of Philadelphia PA where interesting dining is abundant. I didn’t think I could find decent Chinese food here until now. Chuar is the real deal, very authentic and delish. I got the twice cooked pork and it was so full of flavor not like any other dish I’ve had. My friend got shredded beef with green hot peppers and the beef was so tender and just the right amount of heat. The pan fried dumplings were very tender and light. We will be back.

First had Chuar at the beginning of the pandemic for take out. We kept saying we would go back and sit down and try new things. We finally did and it was amazing. Great service, she was patient with us asking questions and would recommend items for us if one was not available. Wish there was some seasonings on the table but I get it with covid and what not. We had leftovers and ordered some stuff to take home. All the food we got was amazing, even their American Chinese item we got to take home. Most expensive thing we got was the duck that was about 18$ but it was worth it! If you are thinking about trying them, just go do it.

great food, wonderful service

Yes! I've been waiting forever for an authentic Chinese restaurant. I went in at evening so it was naturally slow, but the food came out quickly and was delicious, as well as enough for two sizeable helpings. Highly recommend as an alternative to sugary American Chinese, though they do also have a selection of those dishes available as well.Update: went back twice now in a short time and both times were just as good. The duck in beer sauce is chopped up bone-in meat with plenty of flavor and fat, and the ants climbing a hill (ground pork in spicy bean noodles) was hot and satisfying, like a spicy drunken noodles. I sincerely want to try every single dish here, if I had the money and weren't afraid of getting fat I'd eat here every day. A must-try place if you like food that tastes good.

Good food, nice environment, friendly owner. I really like the purpose of this restaurant. I hope others can appreciate the hard work and authenticity that this place has to offer. Even though they prefer you try authentic Chinese food, they do have "American" Chinese food for those who are more hesitant and are fine with how current Chinese food in America taste like.

Awesome take out, definitely worth visiting they are very speedy and have great quality food and clean flavors.

Overpriced, meat in rice was undercooked, you cant get a side of fried rice?? If I had tasted it before I wouldn't have gotten it at all, super bland. I'm not super critical, but this is the worst chinese food Ive ever had.

Excellent food. Service is friendly and professional. One of the best restaurants in the Salisbury area. Portions are generous and reasonably priced

Love our local Sichuan. Try the cabbage in special sauce, so simple and sublime. The wonton soup is clean and peppery. Home cooking good.
