I ordered the cream of crab soup. It was decent. Not very much crab in it. Maybe a pinch. Then I ordered and entree to go. The jumbo stuffed shrimp. This "meal" costs over $40 and is smaller than an appetizer. They ought to be ashamed of themselves. I understand that there are shortages happening but the prices need to be adjusted to accommodate the customer. I will not be back.
I liked the location and our waitress was great. The grilled fish was delicious, but I had not seen crab imperial look like that before. My crab cake was the smallest I have ever seen. I was visiting Salisbury and I frequent Mo's in Ballto and its just a great value for the money.
This was my first visit here. I was with a group of 30 having dinner. The views are amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bread was incredible. I had the 12 oz prime rib and it was enough for 2. I can’t wait to go back again.
Customer Service: 3/5Atmosphere: 4/5Food & Drink: 1/5Overall, if I could give 2 & 1/2 stars, I would. But my girlfriend and I did not receive an experience worth 3 stars. The hostess and waitress were friendly and concise as you'd expect from any restaurant. Everything was brought to us in a timely manner and there were no issues with the accuracy of our order. The atmosphere is great; very clean, well crafted, and really takes advantage of its location on the water. No complaints here. The food is where we were very disappointed. Firstly, being a seafood restaurant we understand that foods on the outlier are not the priority. Regardless, our mozzarella sticks tasted like the frozen, boxed food you buy from Wal-Mart. The marinara on the side gave me flashbacks of High School cafeteria lunch. This was our appetizer in conjunction with both Maryland Crab and Cream of Crab soup. Both soups had good flavor, but lacked any meaningful amount of crab meat. For a price tag of $10/bowl we definitely expected more. Our entrees were Chicken Caesar salad and Blackened Scallop Fettuccine. The chicken was overcooked and tough; lettuce, room temperature and starting to brown; croutons, probably store bought; dressing, average. The Blackened Scallop Fettuccine is where we were the most disappointed. The scallops were browned, but were slightly undercooked giving them an unsettling rubbery texture. The pasta also came out undercooked, and dry from a lack of sauce. This wouldn't be as bad if the noodles had any kind of flavor to them (easily fixed by at least salting the water you boil them in). The side of green beans came out of the kitchen cold. Honestly, we didn't even bother to taste them. All of this paired with an $8 glass of Pinot Grigio for each of us made for a memorable date night. ?
It is pricey, but friendly, beautiful Restaurant. It's a shame my order of cream of crab soup tasted like gravy with a dab of crab meat in the center. Traded it for walnut salad it was good.
Left after 45 minutes, I understand being short staffed but other people were getting served. Management has issues.
The drinks are very reasonable and always taste great. . Appetizers are really good, love anything with crab dip (waffle fries, pretzel, bread) and old bay honey wings are the best. Haven’t been for dinner recently, but the menu looks good. Nice view and casual atmosphere. The muffins are always delicious too.
It was Friday night at 7:00 and we were the only people in the dining room. That was a sign. We got oysters, cream of crab soup, salad, prime rib and drinks. Food came out quick but unfortunately the soup came out cold and the prime rib came out exceptionally rare. It was ordered medium and it wasn't even close to that. It happens and it really wasn't a big deal to us. The biggest issue was they added a 20 % tip on to a 3 person bill. The server was decent and I would have not held her accountable for the way the food came out. She would have received that amount or more and to add that on to a 3 person table is ridiculous. I do know they can't make you pay a added on tip and I could have not paid that however as I said I wasn't holding her accountable for the chefs cooking.
Sat at the bar this evening. Food was pretty good. Seafood fettuccini could have used some lump crab meat but great taste with the shrimp and scallops. Fried shrimp was really good. Most Seafood items were “MARKET PRICE”.YIKES - on a few we asked about but during these times it’s understood. My salad was never brought so I asked for if to go.Original bar server was inattentive but coworker’s picked up some slack. Our tip was still very generous. It was great to see more people out & about & it appeared the restaurant had a good amount of help. We will go back.
I debated writing this but as I still have friends and some family in the Salisbury MD area I felt people should know about my experience here on December 16, 2021. As I had sold my home the day before and was leaving to move to FL I was craving a Crab Cake before I left the Eastern Shore. Having eaten at Brew River this past summer I had a Crab Cake Sandwich there and it was AMAZING!! Brew River was where I wanted to have my last meal in the area and as it's a locally owned restaurant I always try to spend my money with local establishments. Upon being seated our server informed us that there was an automatic 20% gratuity added to the check regardless of the amount of people at the table. As I normally tip 20% based on good service I had no issue with this. All 3 at our table had Crab Cake Sandwiches($29 each and mine as the BLT was $34-would have been nice had these prices been noted or told but lesson learned) My sandwich had to be returned as it wasn't cooked completely. Not a big deal but if I'm paying $34 for lunch I should expect a cooked meal. Seated next to us was an Army Vet who I struck up a conversation with. Lovely gentleman who allowed me to buy him a beer. I'm all about our Veterans. As the restaurant was getting busier with seemingly little help in sight I requested the bill, signed what I assumed was the bill and we started to depart. This is when the Hostess came after me saying I didn't pay and people in the restaurant noticed. To say I was mortified is an understatement. I've never been more embarrassed in my life. I then signed the bill and left. I contacted a then Facebook friend who is employed at Brew River and he contacted me right away which I appreciated. At this point I was crying. He offered to comp my meal which I declined or offer gift cards to my two dining companions which I also declined as since I paid the bill didn't think they should receive the credits. I lived in the SBY area for 3.5 years and have a reputation of helping to feed those in need in this community and that is very important to me. To think people might think I would skip out on a bill breaks my heart. I've not shared this experience with anyone but my sister but after some time of cooling off I decided to message the owner and ask, upon reflection, to have my meal credited. Zero response. Granted a busy time with Christmas but nothing. Especially with Covid still around people can choose to dine anywhere and for me I will choose to spend my money in places that care and respect their patrons. This restaurant treated me terribly and I'll never forget this experience.
