We love GOOD Thai food, but are often disappointed with the restaurants in our local area with lackluster cuisine. Since we have a show to see tonight in Tyson's, we decided to stop by Thai Chef for lunch. I had the Fishing in Mekhong (like Thai tea with booze-delicious!), chicken satay, and Southerner's Comfort (hello SPICY! I LOVE IT!). If you can't handle heat, you won't like it. But I love the spice. It's a whole other type of life high in itself. My better half chose Purple Rain, Thai Chef Chicken Wings, and Peppery Garlic Fried Rice. He stated that the wings and shrimp were fried to perfection and the fried rice was super flavorful. Not only was the decor fascinating and the food and drinks amazing, but the Rockville Town Square is superbly kept (clean and neat). We walked around after just to gaze at the sites and see other places we might like to visit in the future. We'll definitely come back again!
Go for the spicy miso krob. Crispy pork belly with just the right amount of spice
I saw a few reviews from TicTok so I had to see what the hype was. There’s plenty of parking available in nearby garages and street parking. The restaurant is very pretty! Great atmosphere for pictures. Very bright and unique decorations. But the food was meh. The pork and crab dumplings tasted like pork dumplings. Since all the meats are mixed together I feel like the pork over powered the other flavors. My garlic pork meal tasted fresh but was too sweet. Everyone else in my party enjoyed their meals. Well seasoned and decent portions.
Really great Thai restaurant! They have so many unique different dishes that really sets them apart from other Thai restaurants. It's very spacious in there and very colorful and bright. And the food was soooooo good! They really pack the spice! As shown in pictures I got the purple rain drink (picture 1) which was really nice definatly needed stirring. My boyfriend got the ... (pic 2) then for appetizers we got the curry puffs (pic 3) and the dumplings (pic 4) which we both really liked. Then for dinner I got the Ka-Pow with chicken (pic 6) which was definitely pretty spicy but I don't have much of a tolerance. My boyfriend didn't think it was bad who has a super high tolerance for spice and puts hot sauce on everything. But it was super good I loved it! My boyfriend got the ... (pic 7) which he liked. Then for dessert my boyfriend got the coconut ice cream (pic 8) which was very good if you like chocolate in there. And I got the taro tapioca pudding which was warm but pretty good if you like that kind of stuff.Overall it was a nice experience the only reason I gave it 4 stars was because the staff took a long time to come over to us. It seemed like they took care of other people before us and the table next to us felt the same way. Very friendly though! Definatly recommend if you love Thai food!
First time visiting and it was definitely busy the wait wasn’t too bad. The tables are a little closer than I prefer if you are seated on the first floor. Our food arrived at a decent time and everything was hot. Fried rice was good (not the best, not the worst). The Ka- pow was really good! I would come back for this. I will definitely be back to try the drunken noodle and the Thai coffee.
Service was really fast, and it wasn't crowded or anything (Thursday evening) so I felt safe while eating. Food was delicious. I got a Thai iced coffee, veggie Tom Yum soup and chicken drunken noodle. My only qualm was that the noodles weren't spicy, and I didn't see any chili peppers in it like usual. Might just be me since I can handle spicy and they play it safe. Should have seen if they have a spice tray, maybe another time. Was great for a relatively quick meal!
Great placefor Thai food. I got the Green curry which was excellent. There is a parking garage with free parking for 2 hours which makes it convenient. The averge entree dishes cost ~$15. The service was prompt. I got the shrimp as the appetizer was not a big fan of it. The ambience is amazing and is a great place to enjoy with friends and family.
Such a cute restaurant with good Thai food. The decor is colorful and vibrant, the service is great, and the food came out so fast. The drinks are tasty too!
Excellent food, creative cocktails, funky decor, and great location. Ordered the duck noodles, lunch special w panang chicken curry and curry puff, and the elderberry old fashion (see pic). Was too excited by the homemade coconut ice cream w shaving of coconut and chocolate nibs to take a pic! Good covid safety, wait staff masked, hand sanitizer on each table, and tables well spaced. A great place to eat!
Very friendly & efficient service. Pad Thai & Pad Si Ew were delicious. Appetizer crab & shrimp dumplings were very good, but very small. Also, one of the best cosmopolitan’s I’ve ever had out!
