I've visited the Silver Diner at 12276 Rockville Pike many times. It was extremely busy this day yet all the staff seem cheerful. I sat at the bar. I notice the manager Jose Reyes and I had to share with him that he runs an efficient and effective restaurant. He took a few minutes to talk while around him at least 10 wait staff and at least 10 food prepares were bustling around cooking and serving clients. It was incredible to see. My food has always been delivered in a timely manner and always hot. This restaurant standards are very high. This performances was the same even during Covid. I would recommend this location to anyone seeking good service and good food.
Many options! What I love about silver diner are the healthy and fun options. You can choose a salad with fresh fish (where the fish is from is on the menu), or a stack of pancakes and fresh toast with whipped cream. The shakes are so SO GOOD! The menu is vegan and vegetarian EXTRA friendly with special notation and lists of ingredients under each item. Great for small parties and for larger ones, too (like after a hard practice, teams sometimes goes together to refuel). The atmosphere (retro diner) is really fun to hang around, too! To be honest, however, the staff are not that friendly and the vibe they give off is “just trying to do my job.” But they work hard and I’m appreciative of that. Love to go there, and wish I could go more often!
Really good service by Brian. My pot pie was super tasty. The hibiscus shake was delicious too. Yum!
The Silver Diner has taken the reigns and redefined the former rules and beliefs surrounding “Diner Culture.” While Breakfast Staples like the Lumberjack and Worlds greatest Milkshakes continue to grace the Menu, there are obvious healthful and wholesome options also emerging, not to mention an ample selection of tasty Vegan entrees!I enjoyed a casual dinner with friends and we were thrilled to discover we could also make it a Happy Hour (or a Happy Dinner?) but ordering a glass of bubbles and an Old Bay Bloody Mary! I didn’t realize the Diner also has a full liquor license!? Next time it’s going to be one of their delicious milkshakes with Vodka in it! Undoubtedly! :)
I’ve been to Silver Diner several times and I’ve tried a couple of different entrees. My favorite was definitely the meatloaf. The chicken noodle soup is also really good and so are the milkshakes.
Service was outstanding but even though I could see the server waiting at the kitchen window to pick up the food as soon as it came out my breakfast was cold. The pancakes didn’t melt the butter even a little and I could have used a steak knife to cut the overcooked link sausage. Disappointing.
Most times when I go for dinner at Silver Diner at this location I know that everyone is trying hard to bring me and the rest of the patrons a 110% satisfied experience with good service good food and amazing food choices - large variety on the menu, milk shakes and desserts. Download the app for some amazing coupons when you check in each visit. I got 30% off one dinner and a free dinner for my birthday. It’s my top 3 restaurants in the area.
Good GF and vegetarian options, quite reasonably priced. Shrimp and watermelon salad was very delicious and fresh. Salmon quinoa salad was a bit bland and dry Chips with Mac & cheese were a bit chewy and tasted slightly old, possibly reheated? Had the kids brownie sundae for dessert which was massive! Full of chocolate and luckily gluten free! Very good portion for $3, don’t know how a kid is meant to eat the whole thing though, we shared it between 3 of us!! Tables slightly dirty but service was good and friendly. Would return for cheap quick easy eats
Awesome!!!! Place to eat, loads of options for everyone.
I came with my 3.5 year old daughter for an early Sunday dinner (4:45) and we had a wonderful meal in our cute, two-person booth. We both got breakfast, and she housed her pancakes, fruit and bacon. My jack cheddar omelet was really good. The biscuit was a little tough on the outside but still pretty tasty. Great service from Josh, waited a bit for the food but it's a popular place. The line was out the door by the time we left!
