We have been eyeing this place for months as we are frequent shoppers at Mom's Market next door. Always seem to be in a hurry when grocery shopping so never took the time to stop in. Recently, we took the plunge and have been back a few times since because the food is so delicious. Don't overlook this place as it is nestled in a corner that doesn't naturally beckon but be forewarned, once you've tasted what they are serving up, you'll be back. Side benefit is it's all fresh and vegan so you don't end up sick every time you dine!
First time at Shouk to grab and go a healthy fresh vegan meal. Place your order at the kiosk with an easy to use menu. Service was fast and friendly. The food is phenomenal!!! A definite place to come back too!
Good food but small portions. Got the sausage pita and it was way smaller than the box it came in. The sausage was not meat but some sort of possibly vegan sausage that was limp and like a tofu hotdog, severely lacking in flavor. The spiced fries were nice but also small in quantity. If you really want a great meal, go to Max's in Wheaton
Stopped by for first time. Food surpassed expectations. Excellent crispness, good ratios, and nicely presented. Falafel had the perfect texture inside and out, and harissa mayonnaise option sent great with spice fries.Best part was simple ingredient list, great for groups managing common allergies like dairy and shellfish (none here!)
I was so excited to find not only an Israeli restaurant near me, but a meat-free one! I got a falafel this time because I was having a craving, but I’m going to have to go back again soon to try out the meat-alternative dishes.
Just happened to find this place today and I am really impressed. The food is amazing. Plant based healthy food to tickle your taste buds leaving you satisfied.
UPDATE: I gave Shouk another try and I’m happy to report that they made good on their promise to adjust the salt. My latest order was so tasty without the copious salt. I will say I’m still miffed at the price point especially for fast food. But I’m giving them 5 stars because that cardamom cookie is out of this world. LOVE IT!!!!I tried Shouk for the time today. The food is made to order and is therefore fresh. I ordered the Shouk Chik’n sandwich with a side of spiced fries. The fries are very good and fresh. The sandwich would be nice if it wasn’t so salty. Like other reviews point out, the food is very salty and borders on inedible if you have a lower salt tolerance. The salt levels should be adjusted especially because there are other pickled elements in the sandwich. While the meatless options are somewhat healthier, the salt content completely negates the health factor. The other issue I had was the price point. A sandwich with a side of fries came to almost $20 with no extras or drink. That’s pretty high. While I like the meatless option and that the food is fresh, I don’t think it’s worth the premium.
Working my way through their menu and so far everything has been great. Just tried their new sausage and that is very tasty. Some of the best hummus going and really good falafel. The spice fries should not be missed.
LOVE everything about Shouk. Offering up tasty food, excellent service and friendly staff, everything on the menu serves to complement the experience. For a healthy, delicious meal, I eat in and take Shouk home twice a week and my whole family thanks me. Thank you, Shouk!
Really good food! I got mushroom shawarma bowl w/ falafel added and the choco cardamom cookie. Absolutely wonderful! I really enjoyed and will definitely try more next time.
